Liked: Summer Lodge Hotel is wonderfully and conveniently situated. Glorious countryside, charming characterful towns and villages, and within easy driving distance of some of the UK's most iconic coastal scenery. The Hotel gardens are very attractive and all members of staff friendly and welcoming. Overall, meals in both the Hotel and its nearby 'sister' establishment The Acorn Inn, were something to look forward to with attractively presented dishes. Likewise breakfasts, which provided guests with a great selection of quality cereals, fresh and dried fruits, etc, in addition to some tasty a la carte items. Table service was excellent at all times.
Disliked: Notwithstanding our previous comments, it comes down to price, and whether a tariff of over £600 per night for a moderate size room with breakfast and dinner, excluding drinks, represents good value. Perhaps the introduction of some multi-night dinner, bed & breakfast deals could be considered, at least outside the high season months of June, July, August?
