Good location, no room service.

Liked: Great location. Nice staff, especially Curtis, on the bar/breakfast service.Large bathrooms. Decent breakfast. Log fires in most rooms.
Disliked: 1) No lift, but I appreciate it's a listed building. 2) We booked 4 rooms. 2 superior doubles and 2 classic doubles. The superior doubles were excellent. However, one of the classic doubles was much smaller than the other and had a cracked and scruffy bedside table. It only had a few inches from the end of the bed to the wall. I asked to be moved, as it was clearly inferior to the other classic double. I was told no other classic doubles were available, but I could upgrade the room for £100. I wasn't happy at being asked for more money when the original room had been poor, but I agreed as it was for my 81 year old father. On settling the bill, I had been charged £100 extra per night, which had not been made clear.3) No room service and no food other than crisps after 8pm.

Liked: Absolutely loved the hotel, the staff are very accommodating! The breakfast was really high standard and the views are stunning in the location.
Disliked: Wasn't keen on leaving the room key every time we left the hotel area.

Liked: The bed was super comfortable & the underfloor heating in the bathroom was amazing & we loved our matching dressing gowns & slippers,the view of the lake from our room was spectacular!!!!
