The best small independent hotel...

Liked: Very pleasant staff and nice hotel. Nice artwork and my room was tired every day
Disliked: Nothing

Avoid

Liked: Location close to Paddington
Disliked: Filthy carpets, shower didn’t work - a drip basically. Fourth floor room was absolutely boiling and windows only opened an inch. Room needed a good clean. Bathroom was so small you had to walk in sideways. Unlit halls. Shockingly bad.

Convenient location and very clean...

Liked: Super clean, which isn’t always a given in heavily touristed parts of London. The location was also wonderful when you just need to be near the train so you can leave early the next day. LOVED the sparking cold water on tap just wish it was also at the coffee tea station on the 3rd floor for easier access.
Disliked: We stayed on the 4th floor (5th for Americans) and there was no lift. We pack light (just a carry on) and exercise regularly so this wasn’t a problem for us but it would be for many. I don’t know how this could be remedied other than being more vocal about the staircase and inquiring about accessibility needs. The room was hit with almost no airflow but they provided a fan and that helped a lot.

Fantastic hotel in a central...

Liked: The location was absolutely fantastic! It’s just a 1-minute walk from Paddington station, and the hotel itself is surrounded by lovely bars and restaurants. The team at the hotel was friendly and very welcoming. I enjoyed the nice view from my room, and appreciated that the window could be opened, especially during the hot weather. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London for business or leisure.
Disliked: There was no air conditioning, only a small fan. I could still sleep well during the night, but it’s important to keep this in mind when staying here during the summer months.
