The facilities are decent, but...

Liked: The hotel’s location is decent — about a 10-minute walk to the PATH station. The room is fairly spacious, and you can borrow kitchenware from the front desk. Overall, the hardware and amenities are acceptable, although the shower pressure is quite weak.
Disliked: On the night of our stay, I borrowed a stovetop kettle from the front desk. The male staff member on duty (unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name) was very friendly and walked me through the borrowing paperwork. The form included fields for room number, item, borrow time, and return time — though we left the return time field blank. I specifically asked whether I needed to bring the kettle back to the front desk at checkout, and he assured me that it wasn’t necessary.However, during checkout, I mentioned to the agent on duty, Honeal Zeegelaar, that we had left the kettle on the stovetop. She insisted that we had to physically return it to the front desk and threatened a fine of several dozen dollars if we didn’t, even after I explained that we had been told otherwise the night before. As a result, I had to carry my luggage back upstairs just to retrieve the kettle.After bringing it down, I asked to see the paperwork to verify that the "return time" section had been filled out — to avoid any unjustified charges. Ms. Zeegelaar first stalled and pretended to look for it (she briefly flipped through a stack of forms and then disappeared into the back room), and later simply skipped over me to assist other guests. She told me if I wanted to see the paperwork, I could wait "as long as it takes" or just leave.The whole experience was extremely disappointing. I’ve stayed at other major suite-style hotel brands and borrowed kitchenware without ever running into this kind of issue. This was my first — and will be my last — stay at a Sonesta property.

Liked: Exceeded all of my expectations. Front counter staff were excellent. They were professional, knowledgeable and friendly.

Liked: Every was super easy, start to finish. Only a 2 night stay but everything was perfect.
