Very good

Some Nice Points, But Won’t...

Liked: Good location for walking to all of the soho shops, close to all of the designer boutiques, galleries, nice dining options. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The room was spotless. The cleaning staff and maintenance staff were excellent. And there were always several doormen at the front doors, holding the doors open and welcoming us back each time we returned to the hotel, which was a nice touch and much appreciated. The old-timey, industrial loft decor and atmosphere was unique and fun. We travel to NY every 2-3 months and have stayed in many different hotels in different neighborhoods. This hotel had some nice touches, however, as noted below was not the best experience overall and we do not plan to stay here again.
Disliked: The 2nd floor “lounge” is actually a loud club on friday & saturday nights. This would not have been a big deal at all except that the floor we were staying on, the third floor, had an opening in the hallway overlooking the club. The elevators were loud with booming music, the lobby was loud with booming music, and the hallway outside our room was loud with booming music. After about 8pm it seemed a party crowd of people were coming and going through the lobby to the 2nd floor club until very late both nights. Also, the air conditioner in the room was not cooling the room down. I tried calling the front desk on a couple of occasions and no one answered. Then, we returned to our room when the housekeeper was there and she also commented about how the room felt warm and she promptly sent up maintenance to look at it. They were able to do a little that helped, and also brought an electric fan which was appreciated. The front desk staff were not the most friendly or helpful. While our room was very clean and spotless, the outside of the hotel and the gutters 100 feet extended in front of other storefronts on either side of the entrance were littered with trash. It is a nice street, strewn with trash up and down. Lastly, am finding an unauthorized $600 charge on my card from the hotel that I now must call to get fixed.

Excellent Hotel in superb location...

Liked: My wife and I stayed at the Soho Grand when we travelled to New York for 2 nights (a total of 36 hours) in May.The Hotel is unbelievably well located and this is the main reason we chose to stay here.Rooms are very slick with all amenities included yet they are pretty small - I guess don't expect a huge room in NYC.I used the coffee bar which was perfect to grab a hot cup, some snacks and do some work.Make sure to check out the super cool diner on the street level - its AWESOME!!!
Disliked: The hotel was quite pricy for the size of room but location is top class...
