Short, v cosy and sweet
Liked: The hotel is in a great location, next to social and recreational spaces, eateries, train stations etc. I loved that they have a games room where one can sit and eat/play... they offered storage post check-out - that was handy, and the staff were very helpful.
Disliked: My room was pleasant, but small. I couldn't fit a second suitcase. There was no bottled water provided, tap water not potable. I requested to have the room heated cos it was chilly at night, and was informed that it could only be for a v short time, since the heating is not room-by- room, rather, its the whole hotel (weird)

Nice place excellent Location .
Liked: The room was fine, facilities worked, they provide a boiler for a cup of tea and they also provide instant coffee and sugar. Clean linens enough pillows. It was fresh, I used the heater very little. I kept my window a bit open. The room had a bathroom and shower (there are rooms that do not have one and use a shared bathroom) The room has a working TV and plenty of power outlets. You don't even need a converter because they have USB ports for charging. The room also had a small refrigerator.I just needed a place to sleep and store my things. It worked out well.
Disliked: The building, and all the buildings in that area of Paddington, have a serious handicap: the trains in the station make the entire building shake when they pass. I sleep very soundly an I only heard the earthquake when I was falling asleep and when I woke up. Again, I only used the hotel to sleep and store my things. It's a good option. But if noise bothers you a lot, this "small" detail could ruin your stay.

Base for exploring London
Liked: the bed was incredibly comfortable, it was clean, a perfect base for exploring London
Disliked: it was loud, the proximity of the station does its thing, but it's bearable

sent nextdoor to the Dolphin!!?
Liked: On arrival at Shakespeare hotel I was sent to hotel nextdoor (Dolphin hotel ) so didn’t even get to stay at the property I booked and paid for! No explanation! What choice do you have when you arrive and need somewhere to stay??! I have stayed at Shakespeare hotel prior and it was great…things were about to change at Dolphin!
Disliked: When booking I requested a ground floor room due to health condition, i showed the message to reception guy who denied it was sent despite me having received subsequent messages re checkin, I was given a room in the Dolphin Hotel on 3rd floor, the room was old and poky…it was only for one night thankfully, breakfast is basic selection, toast and coffee which is fine for me, I stay in this area every week for work and have to say the Dolphin is not somewhere I would choose to stay, I won’t book Shakespeare hotel again as I don’t like being messed around

Ideal location, will use again
Liked: Stayed here in order to attend the Carabao Cup Final. Ideally located 3 minutes walk from Paddington. Able to book back in for a second night at lower cost after Newcastle’s win!
