Bad

Liked: Location of the hotel
Disliked: Everything no lifts and it's not mentioned clearly on booking.com, we need to take our luggage by stairs on 3rd floor with such a small stair case from 2nd to 3rd floor it's pathetic experience. It was so hot since the room was just below the rooftop. I had kids and they weren't able to sleep I asked for a fan they don't have a big fans they don't have air conditioners nothing. For all this I still can't believe I paid £827 for this. Size of bathroom on 3rd floor is so small even pets can't use it.

Great location, small room

Liked: Great location near Paddington. The staff was very helpful.
Disliked: Proximity to rail station meant noise and the room/bed literally rumbled with arriving trains. I don’t think there was any insulation or anything else to dampen noise from inside the hotel. The result was quite a bit of noise making it hard to sleep. The hotel has no elevator so be prepared to drag your luggage up stairs. 3) The room was very small. I did have a single but it was really small.

Difficult, although did knew what...

Liked: Location is excellent, staff always pleasant and courteous. Had a small fridge and to be fair a very large stock of tea and coffee. Had own private toilet and shower, unusual in rooms this small.
Disliked: No air conditioning just a fan to plug in. Not usually a problem but room was unbearable in recent heatwave even with window fully open. Room was very small. (as excpected as stayed in the hotels in this area many times), so unable really to get up and move around. No lift. Many rooms including mine (for single travellers) always at the top of building. Allthe hotels in Sussex gardens and surrounding area need a massive upgrade and probably will go under as travellers use the new branded hotels coming up in the area.

Good hotel for a short...

Liked: Close proximity to Paddington Station. Able to check in early and bags stored for a few hours after check out. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The room was quite cramped for 4 people, but as we were staying for only one night we managed. The decor and furnishings are a little tired compared to those shown in the photographs.

Passable

Liked: Good location, comfortable bed.
Disliked: Stayed on the top floor, difficult to carry full suitcase as the stairs get narrow the further up you go. Stayed in a heatwave, no fans in accommodation or offered from reception.

Great for a short stay...

Liked: I liked the easy check in. I liked my bedroom with shower. I liked the helpful workers in the breakfast room.I liked the proximity to Paddington station.
Disliked: I didn't like the darkness of the reception area. I did not feel I wanted to sit there. I didn't like the scaffolding obstructing the view at the time.
