The Spotlight on Saint Pauls House

Chic boutique base in Birmingham’s buzzing Jewellery Quarter

Modern and stylish, Saint Pauls House is a boutique hotel nestled in Birmingham’s charming St Paul’s Square. With its sleek design, comfy rooms, and lively on-site bar, it’s a favorite among travelers who want to stay close to the action but unwind in style. Just a short walk from major venues like the ICC and Utilita Arena, it’s a smart pick for music lovers hitting the city for a big night out. Rooms include perks like air conditioning, satellite TVs, bathrobes, and coffee machines—plus there’s free Wi-Fi throughout the property.

Why Concert-goers love it

Saint Pauls House scores big with its walkable location to some of Birmingham’s biggest music venues—no need for a late-night cab ride after the encore. The area is lively but not overly noisy, giving you the best of both worlds: easy access to nightlife, but a peaceful place to crash. With a 24-hour front desk and a check-in time of 15:00, it’s easy to come and go without stress, even after a late gig.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want to pre-game in the on-site bar and walk to shows
  • Solo travelers checking off a must-see artist
  • Couples looking to pair a concert with a romantic city break
  • Fans needing quiet recovery time after a night in the crowd
  • Budget-conscious music fans seeking style without overspending

Food and Drink Options

The on-site bar and restaurant are a big draw, offering late-night dining and craft cocktails. No need to go far for your pre-show meal or post-show snack. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the area is packed with walkable eateries from brunch spots to gastropubs, and the hotel’s coffee machines make early starts a little easier. Breakfast is available, perfect for those slower mornings after a big night.

Nightlife Options

Saint Pauls House has its own stylish bar that often draws locals as well as guests. While it doesn’t host live music, you’re just minutes away from Birmingham’s best bars, lounges, and clubs. Whether you’re aiming for an all-nighter or a quiet nightcap, there’s something nearby to suit every post-concert mood.

What People Say

Guests rave about the stylish interiors, friendly staff, and unbeatable location. Many highlight how close it is to major venues, as well as the vibrant atmosphere and clean, comfortable rooms. The bar is a frequent favorite, described as a great place to start or end your evening.

Areas for Improvement

Parking is available but comes with an extra charge—worth noting for drivers. Some guests mention that rooms facing the square can get a bit lively on weekends, so light sleepers may want to request a quieter room.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a stylish, walkable, and welcoming base in Birmingham for your next concert night, Saint Pauls House hits all the right notes.

I’d definitely book here again

Liked: Lovely hotel, great location being near to the centre yet a in a quiet spot.
Disliked: If I had to find fault…. I would say the towel radiator needs moving from next to the wc as risk of scolding if on, and not very hygienic from splashes when flushing.

Poor don’t recommend at all...

Liked: Location good. But hotel definitely not 4*
Disliked: Lift not working. And clearly hadn’t been for some time. I spent a significant amount to upgrade for a larger bed. The futon style frame was king size with a double matted which was terrible quality floating in frame with huge gaps around. No coffee maker as described. Certainly not luxury in any way. I’d not recommend it stay again. The staff were lovely though. Let down by stingy management.

Very good but hotel would...

Liked: room, and breakfast good. Overall a good stay.
Disliked: Bar closed too earley. Lift was out of order - and looked as though it had been for months! We understood that the hotel was soon to be refurbished - if that's true, that's good news as it needs it.

Super location, beautiful building, staff...

Liked: Fabulous looking venue, staff are great ….. very friendly, and helpful and the food is excellent. Bar staff are always great as are the receptionists and doorman.
Disliked: Somehow we always seem to get a noisy room (right by an extractor fan/air conditioning fan) so it’s hard to get a good nights sleep. We’ve stayed here several times and love coming back, but know that we’ll be glad to get back home for a good nights sleep.

Great boutique hotel and lovely...

Liked: great location; stylish interior
Disliked: I was overlooking the roof with the air conditioning and fans belting out noise and steam all night.
