A small hotel with a...
Liked: Everything about this hotel was excellent. From 5he moment we arrived we felt welcome and special. The hotel is perfectly located on the seafront within a short walking distance of shops, pubs, restaurants and the Hovercraft and Catamaran ferries. The bedroom was spacious, light and very clean. There wasn’t a speck of dust anywhere, including the picture frames, doortops and back of the tv. (I only checked these because I couldn’t believe how clean and bright the room was)The food was excellent with a wide choice on the menus. Breakfast was a choice of continental or various cooked options or both if you were very hungry. With free parking on site, free WiFi and a variety of teas and coffees in the room, we lacked for nothing. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful but a special mention must go to Chloe and Taz who went out of their way to make our stay a good one. On the first morning due to a misunderstanding we turned up for breakfast over an hour late. Without hesitation, we were offered whatever we wanted from the menu and a short time later, breakfast was served, including a freshly cooked full English.Although the hotel is part of a large corporate chain the atmosphere was one of a small family run business making for a great atmosphere and our stay very enjoyable. The Ryde Castle will definitely be my first choice next time we visit the island.

Great stay, superb restaurant
Liked: A nice room with a great en-suite. It looked nice and had tea/coffee making facilities which is always great. There's a superb restaurant downstairs which might be one of the best places in Ryde for vegan options. Everything was made so well and the staff were lovely.
Disliked: It was a small room, but big enough for us. The only real issue was the constant heat in the room, we couldn't seem to vent it out of the windows. We couldn't find a source for the heat.

Liked: Despite the fact it needs “refreshing”, it has a certain charm.Well positioned for the beach, walking round Ryde and discovering the rest of the Island. The rooms were spacious, clean with comfy beds.Nice Pub grub type food for evening meal offered a good selection and nice choices available for a plentiful breakfast (pity they don’t offer kippers).Staff were very friendly from the day we arrived to when we left.
Disliked: It’s a pity the lift only went to first floor. So be aware if you have trouble with legs.

Poor value for money
Liked: Good views to the Solent
Disliked: Room was quite small. Hotel was tatty and not well looked after. Had to keep asking for towels, milks and in general had to ask for room to be made up. Lift was out of service for a number of days.

Good
Liked: Price was reasonable, staff was great and the hotel location was perfect for what i needed.
Disliked: Do not pay for room with breakfast if possible. The included breakfast was barely anything. You can buy cooked breakfast on the days you want breakfast at the hotel instead and save some money.I had a room facing south with no blinds on the outside of the window. Therefore the room got boiling during the day. The windows had a "chain" which made them only able to be opened a sliver and because of that you could not cool the room down during the evening/night. The room had a tiny desk fan, but that is only a tiny help.
