Nicholas, New York, visiting Helen Hayes Theatre

This hotel is in the perfect location - very close to all of the action, but quiet enough to feel like you've gotten away. The check in process was quick and easy and when speaking to the staff, we casually mentioned that we were in NYC for one night to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Later that evening, we returned to our room to find a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, compliments of Xander and the Royal! What a lovely, considerate, and unexpected surprise. Next time we stay in NY, we will most definitely be staying at the Royal!

Liked: Clean rooms
Disliked: The lobby feels dated and dead. They need some sort of amenities in the lobby like a coffee bar or something.

Disliked: the fact that there is no restaurant in the hotel and the fact that your order in are left on table and the reception does not inform you that you have a parcel

Pleasant

Liked: The room was a nice size. Liked having a small frig in room. Bed and pillows were super comfortable.
Disliked: I would have preferred to have an ice machine I could go get my own ice so I didn't have to bother the staff every time I needed ice. It also would have been nice if the hotel had a bar or restaurant area. Lots of unused space downstairs.

Good location, large room, pretty...

Liked: Location is good, staff is friendly and the room is large.
Disliked: The corridors smelled like cigarettes, the lobby looks like an abandoned saloon and the mattress was WAY too soft, really uncomfortable. Carpet in the room…
