The hotel in general was nice and friendly, but when going towards the room I noticed how old fashioned and dated everything looked, like it needed updating from the carpet to the walls. In the room it was clean and tidy but everything was a little dated - it was like going back to the 70's. Personally I prefer a nice crisp clean look in the rooms but this definitely wasn't the case. I think this could be a really lovely hotel as the location is perfect but it needs a good refit. Considering what we paid for the room I was expecting more.

Great, welcoming place to stay...

Liked: We were lucky to be given a parking space. The breakfast was very good, with an excellent choice of hot and cold foods. The location is great for visiting the Historic Dockyard. We had a bar meal in the evening which was basic, but good value and very good. All staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Disliked: The room was a bit too hot, but there was a fan. Slightly dated if looking for a very modern hotel, but we liked it

Liked: The interior of hotel was interesting, but not quite as old as originally thought due to be bombed and rebuilt after the war. Good location for gun wharf quays.

Hotel needs updating. The staff...

Liked: The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The food was very good. I missed breakfast and was given a lovely packed lunch to take away with me. The bed was comfortable.
Disliked: The decor of the rooms was tired, I upgraded my room and it was still so dated and old fashioned. No iron in the room you had to go all the way to the laundry room to iron anything. No fridge, room was quite small. I expected more comforts for the price of the room.
