Bransgrove, Essex, visiting Portsmouth Guildhall
The hotel in general was nice and friendly, but when going towards the room I noticed how old fashioned and dated everything looked, like it needed updating from the carpet to the walls. In the room it was clean and tidy but everything was a little dated - it was like going back to the 70's. Personally I prefer a nice crisp clean look in the rooms but this definitely wasn't the case. I think this could be a really lovely hotel as the location is perfect but it needs a good refit. Considering what we paid for the room I was expecting more.
Liked: Clean as can be considering how old everything is.
Disliked: Very old fashioned.

Great value close to ferry...
Liked: A large old hotel with some great Naval History. Close to the Brittany Ferries terminal and ideal for an overnight stay before onwards travel. Close to the Historic Naval Museum.
Disliked: It was just a little quiet when I visited. Not many guests.
