Darmalingam, Romford, visiting Utilita Arena Birmingham Sat, 19 March 2022

Enjoyed the stay; night shift staff could be more friendly. Enjoyed the breakfast and the lovely lady called Sela cooked a very nice full English breakfast and her hospitality was excellent!

Liked: Breakfast in the morning; bed and heating was good!
Disliked: TV remote wasn't working.

It was ok to use...

Liked: The property was cheap and in a location close to the o2 institute, we could get a bus right outside the hotel into centre and also after the institute also a bus right outside back to hotel so saved a lot on taxis and also time as bus was every 7 mins!!!! Amazing Free car parking a plus Staff were friendly
Disliked: So.. when first arriving i was a bit worried as the area looked a bit dodgy and the pub looked a bit like a local boozer (which is it). It just looked like somewhere I wouldn’t choose to go basically. However we parked up about 2 o’clock and there was quite a bit of parking for free which was good. We had to go into the pub to check in and a local was nice and directed us to the bar for check in. Nice and quick check in and rooms were actually ok. Surface level clean, defo need needed a deep scrub in corners of floor and shower etc but surface clean like sheets towels sink all clean at first glance. Just don’t look closer

Great

Liked: Staff very friendly breakfast was great, locals drinking on the bar very friendly and friendly welcomingWhen we got back at night the cat park was shut or key wouldn’t work but the man let us in opened the car park so we didn’t have to park on the street. Then walked us to our room to make sure our key worked on the door very helpful

Good for the football ground...

Liked: Clean, comfortable and value for money. Staff friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The area close to the hotel littered with rubbish everywhere. Off putting. We know that, that is out of the hotels control.

Cheap and Cheerful, handy for...

Liked: Very cheap and cheerful accommodation. No frills, but smelt clean in the room. Huge king size bed. Decent shower. Quiet outside, couldn't hear the traffic etc. Bar was full of a mixed crowd, could see it being intimidating for a lone female traveller. Fine for short trips or business, not exactly a holiday location. Was able to park my luton right outside on the street, for 'normal' vehicles they have there own car park.
Disliked: The pub was a dive, full of nutters from all walks of life. Super friendly though. The porter let someone into the room near mine at some ungodly hour at night and spoke in the loudest voice, he needs training on night time voices!Loads of fixtures and fittings in the room were broken or wonky, the window didn't shut properly and felt like it might fall off its hinges. The toilet seat shifted around as you sat on it. Bin lid was missing, mirror light didn't work etc.
