Set within 2 Victorian townhouses The Royal Cambridge is just 1312 feet from London Paddington Station and close to the West End Hyde Park and Oxford Street. It offers a 24-hour reception. In 2014 the entire property was refurbished to a high architectural design offerings rooms equipped with a direct-dial telephone a flat-screen LED TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Overall, the room is fine...

Liked: Location of the hotel is great, the room was clean and had great air conditioning during the heat wave. The shower water pressure is good.
Disliked: The sink is slightly too small for my taste, especially for the water pressure. If you are not careful, you will flood the bathroom floor with water. The bed and pillow were rock hard which is unusual for a hotel. Walls are a bit thin.

Not as good as I...

Liked: It was close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park which is why I booked it.
Disliked: Its a very small compact hotel.There's was no extractor fan in the bathroom which it REALLY needed and it was a bit smelly in the bathroom too.There was one tiny window and 3 of us staying in the room which wasn't that big either, but sufficient for just sleeping in after a concert.The beds did slip across the floor if you sat up against the wall, if you kept still and flat you were probably OK.It was a very hot day and there was no air circulating so that didn't help.There were 2 portable fans but they didn't really do much. There wasn't enough oomph from them.Staff were polite and friendly.

It was very clean, nicely...

Liked: Convenient to everything
Disliked: It got noisy with doors slamming and furniture being moved on the floor above. Very small lift, cleaners blocked it when cleaning rooms .

Fab location!

Liked: The hotel was in a brilliant location to Hyde Park, which is where we wanted to go. It's a 5 minutes walk from Paddington Station, too, and there are plenty of eateries around. The staff were friendly and helpful and the beds are lovely and comfy
Disliked: Considering it was 28°, there was no water stocked in the fridge in reception, and the fan provided was rubbish. The shower cubical was really small, too

Very good

Liked: Air con was great, clean rooms, friendly staff let us check in early.
Disliked: Bed wasn’t very comfortable, but was not a deal breaker for one night.
