Rowton Poplars Hotel

Brilliant value for money and...

Liked: Excellent value for money
Disliked: Breakfast could've perhaps been a touch earlier but other than that everything else was great!

Liked: The hotel and staff were amazing. but being up 2 flights of stairs was not ideal at our age. If I had realised we needed to ask separately for a ground floor room that would have made a huge difference to our stay. It was slso extremely hot znd the fan provided made no difference to cooling the room. We also found the shower very awkward to use, the curtain kept sticking to you as you washed and it leaked water despite our efforts to keep the curtain in place.
Disliked: Being up 2 flights of stairs was not ideal at our age. Being up in the eaves we knocked our heads several times on the slanted roof. Value 3 Star Hotel Stay

Liked: Room small but clean and tidy. Located opposite carpark and on a fairly busy road so somewhat noisy but managed to sleep ok. A nice 3 star place to stay. Didn't have breakfast as a bit pricey but had a nice dinner. All staff were very friendly. Location is just a few minutes down the road from a Park and Ride for Chester (£2.50 all day ticket). Near to canal which was lovely for walking along.

Very noisy main road and...

Liked: The property overlooks a main A road. The room and beds actualky shake as lorries go past which is all day and all night, every few seconds. There is no chance of sleep. Its really bad.Although rooms at the very back of the property might be different. They should not put guests in the front rooms that overlook the road. I had a long drive the next and I wasn't feeling safe driving due ro having no sleep. My friend was the same in her front room. I would have liked my money back. But they told me they couldn't due to me booking via booking.com.
