Overall (if the room had...

Liked: Dylan was extremely helpful, he stood out as being excellent.
Disliked: The room was extremely hot and smelled very stuffy (other family staying noticed the same) - no window was open prior to arriving and it was not possible to open them full to air the room. The curtains had been open on a hot day with no air coming in, not lovely to arrive to. Much better the next night, when we had left the windows open and curtain mostly closed to air but not over heat the room. The pillows were very uncomfortable.

Very good

Liked: Location , setting and ambience.
Disliked: Breakfast very disorganised and limited in choice, however it was a very busy Sunday morning .and seemed understaffed.Thought generally a lovely place but at £150 a night was a bit overpriced in comparison to normal overnight stays would have been happier with £120.

Would come again, and recommend...

Liked: Check-in easy, spacious room and en-suite. Comfortable bed. Pleasant grounds. Hotel was very busy and the breakfast staff seemed to be struggling to keep the self service breakfast items topped up. Having said that the breakfast was excellent, all fresh produce, and there was no problem if you wanted, say scrambled eggs rather than the fried that were already there. Cannot comment on dinner as we had other plans.
Disliked: Had to ask for more than two teabags in room. Also room was very noisy when there was wedding in the afternoon. Thankfully it had finished by 5/6 pm. However at 10pm had to request that the music, which was playing on a constant loop, in the now empty wedding reception room, be turned off! This was done immediately and was apologised for. Would still come again but would specifically ask for a quiet room away from any wedding or function rooms.

A truly excellent stay in...

Liked: Our room was big and airy with queen size bed, two chairs at a table, tea and coffee facilities and a large en-suite. As a pet friendly room we were also very impressed with the large dog bed and two large dog bowls that were provided. It showed that the room was also prepared for a dog not just a normal room where the dog was allowed. Breakfast was excellent. A full range of cereal, cooked English, toast fruit and special eggs at request, eg poached. The reception staff couldn't have been more cheerful, friendly and helpful. Milk for the baby at night (our son's room), extra towels, extra room keys! There were a number staff changes with the shifts overnight and everyone was lovely. We were very late arrivals, after a wedding, but there was no hint of a problem and the advance on-line check in proved very helpful. The staff at breakfast were also excellent. Replenishing the buffet constantly and always with a smile. (The dog was alo able to join us in the breakfast room). We had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend.
Disliked: Some of the chairs in the dining room are looking a bit tired. (But that's a very minor pick, except that the hotel is considered as one of the better hotels in the area).

Excellent second stay at this...

Liked: Location excellent. Breakfast fine could do with being set out in one area not all around the room.
Disliked: Lighting rather dim in bedroom, even when curtains drawn back in sunny day, room rather dark, perhaps just the size of the window in room 7. More signage to reception in the carpark needed.
