good enough to choose for...

Liked: It is a charming victorian mansion, very ornate and beautiful, with a spacious room and a really good restaurant - not cheap, but good food.

A Beautiful Hotel, Lovely Rooms...

Liked: We have stayed here before and thoroughly enjoyed it. We came for our Daughter's wedding and it didn't disappoint! Our room was lovely, very comfortable, clean and quiet. We had everything in there - lots of storage, good lighting and a lovely comfy bed. The tea tray was restocked each day, and we had a good selection of drinks. Nice little shower room, very clean with lovely fluffy towels. Breakfast was plentiful and beautifully cooked and presented. Lovely staff, who really make you feel welcome and that nothing is too much trouble. We had a lovely stay, thank you very much. And the wedding? Just perfect.
Disliked: I think the pillows may need changing as mine were both a bit lumpy! Nothing else, we were very happy!

Poor - 0.5 out of 5

Disappointing don?t waste your money

Liked: The pictures do a very good job of misleading you but some parts of this hotel are pretty and the building has a lot of character. it was also very clean.
Disliked: The faded grandeur of a once beautiful building was very obvious in this hotel it just missed the mark on about everything from the cheap toilet roll to the limited unimaginative menu with lack of attention to details, very overpriced for what it is, uncomfortable dining chairs and overused bent cutlery just added to the air of an unloved hotel. The mismatched beds pushed together to make a double in the suite resulted in a poor nights sleep and a less than romantic stay. The poor quality (fir a hotel) bedding with inch thick duvet which was lost in an oversized cover and lumpy pillows. The excess of fake flowers and dunelm accessories everywhere attempting to cover up and distract from the overall rundown state of the building. This was reflected in the staff too who although friendly and chatty lacked attention to detail not asking how our stay was or whether we were happy and overlooking or ignoring the concerns we raised.
