Corona virus
Disliked: Earlier on in the year I booked my mum a hotel here, for Mother?s Day. I am a 17 year old girl who works on a Saturday in a cafe (as I am in full time education) so I don?t get paid an awful lot. Out of my own money I paid for this hotel as I knew it would mean a lot for my mum to go to the City of Glasgow for an over night stay as we live in a remote area. I had paid for this night a month before the corona virus pandemic got bad. When we were watching the news the scientists said that people with immune suppressed diseases were at highest risk. Due to her condition Rheumatoid arthritis my mum takes medication that suppresses her immune system so if she caught this virus she wouldn?t stand a chance. We decided the best option was not to go to Glasgow as my mums health was more important. To travel to Glasgow we would have had to go on a ferry, bus and a train (public transport where my mum would be at her biggest risk) when I told my mum I bought her a stay in a hotel she said I could get my money back. Yes, I did buy a non refundable hotel but this was in no way my fault. It wasn?t like we didn?t want to go to the hotel. I couldn?t help that my mum had a high risk of catching this virus. This hotel denied my money back which in my opinion was wrong. They would prefer my mother to get this virus rather than be healthy. What is £80 to them? £80 to me was over a months wages at my local cafe.
