Paul D, Sandnes, Norway, visiting University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory

The first impression continues inside the Rectory. Gentile. One feels you are entering a dear friend's home, with staff. The Harrods tableware matches perfectly with the dining rooms. Looking onto a rustic garden with a plethora of song birds and the screech of the resident Buzzard. Black sheep and horses in the paddock. Wonderful friendly staff, happy to help you as best they can. Roger is a wonderful, caring host. Rectory Farm is to be recomended.

Liked: The location on 25 acres of rural landscape is excellent. Electric gates sets the tone. The main house where we stayed with log fires burning really makes you feel at home. Roger the owner is a gentile man that truly does care that your stay is perfect.
Disliked: The breakfasts, although an excellent Continental with fresh fruits and yoghurts and full on Standard English, the time of one hour was a minimum.

Beautiful surroundings, at good value

Liked: Beautiful Surroundings, very friendly staff. Peaceful stay
Disliked: Communications prior to visit was near impossible, as none of the contact numbers worked. I was sent a scam message through booking.com and was impossible to contact anyone at booking.com to enquire and inform. This needs to change

Stunning views just extremely basic.

Liked: The grounds are what give this place the edge. Absolutely stunning
Disliked: Having no one there until 4 . Is a bit unusual and no one answered the phone before 4 as well.I feel if it was winter the lure of the gardens would of been different. I think the fact that it was a heat wave meant it all looked beautiful. Only one towel and a bar of soap is very unusual and having to pay for the coffee as well. Just little things especially when it was 34° i would of maybe thought some extra water in the rooms ect

A beautiful location, very comfortable,...

Liked: Everything was perfect, except that on a hot night it was only possible to open one window a little - which made little difference. We could have done with opening the second window, but it was locked. Breakfast was a bit pricey if one only wants to eat a small amount, but it was good food In the days after booking, and certainly close to arrival time, I got far too many ludicrous, repetitive emails "from" Rectory Farm , but this may just have been the Booking.Com servers going berserk, rather than the hotel itself. One of the earlier emails from Booking.Com, sent after my booking had been confirmed, asked for "more information," was suspicious and Rectory Farm confirmed later that it was a "bug," which I took to mean scam or hack. The above was all annoying, but not definitive: we did enjoy our one night stay.
Disliked: See above - I put everything there

Ok place close to Cambridge.

Liked: Good location not far away from downtown Cambridge. Stacy room.
Disliked: As temperatures were high, A/C would be appreciated. Windows couldn’t be opened either except for one small window, which wasn’t sufficient for a large room. Pillows were too stiff and bulky to sleep well on them. At checkin, we had difficulty to reach anybody and had to phone the place as reception was locked and nobody was reachable around.
