The first impression continues inside the Rectory. Gentile. One feels you are entering a dear friend's home, with staff. The Harrods tableware matches perfectly with the dining rooms. Looking onto a rustic garden with a plethora of song birds and the screech of the resident Buzzard. Black sheep and horses in the paddock. Wonderful friendly staff, happy to help you as best they can. Roger is a wonderful, caring host. Rectory Farm is to be recomended.
Liked: The location on 25 acres of rural landscape is excellent. Electric gates sets the tone. The main house where we stayed with log fires burning really makes you feel at home. Roger the owner is a gentile man that truly does care that your stay is perfect.
Disliked: The breakfasts, although an excellent Continental with fresh fruits and yoghurts and full on Standard English, the time of one hour was a minimum.

Liked: Quiet and pleasant location, surrounded by trees and fields. Comfortable room, fresh and well decorated. The main house is a nice old style (but not historic) country house, the annexes are modern.
Disliked: Only one small bar of soap, supposedly to save the planet, and no shampoo either. Check-in only as from 4pm and although they offered to store luggage until then, it would have been for a fee!Swimming pool only open as from 11am and also for a fee. After breakfast, coffee can be found in the annex...... and yes, that's also not free.

A nice retreat close to...
Liked: Excellent location near Cambridge, with attractive buildings, large grounds and a private feel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well presented. Good parking is available and there's a park-and-ride into Cambridge nearby (walking distance). It's close to the M11 which adds to the convenience if coming by car.
Disliked: The bedrooms were a little cramped. It was also extremely hot on one of the days we stayed and, although there were fans in the room, there was no air-conditioning. The nearby M11, while providing convenience, can be heard in the background when outside. Nevertheless, we very much enjoyed our stay at Rectory Farm.

Pleasant
Liked: The area around it, the pool, car park
Disliked: Unfortunately I got bed bugs at the hotel, when I woke up I saw many blood spots on my bedsheets and a week later the red spots and itchiness started to appear on my skin.
