Overall a nice stay.
Liked: The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The young man on the bar on our first evening was very helpful and very pleasant.
Disliked: Unfortunately on our first night the shower was stone cold. It was rectified the next day. The evening staff on reception were not very professional in appearance or personality.Breakfast: whilst the breakfast options were satisfactory, the young lady serving was not appropriately dressed. However, she did accommodate our requests when asked. There was not a lot of atmosphere in the hotel bar.

A hotel that has seen...
Liked: Great location in a lovely village. good parking, very nice grounds to the hotel, very comfortable bed and helpful night porter
Disliked: Staff sitting drinking with feet up on the tables in the bar on arrival( even if post shift),there seemed to be a general lack of staff and any in uniform across the weekend , no TV in the room, shower not working properly, out of order emergency exits in breakfast room and out of order disabled stair lift were not a good look.

Okay place to stay in...
Liked: There was plenty of onsite parking and the staff were lovely. Great location , easy to walk into the village.
Disliked: The room is very dated, it was okay, but due to its age didn’t feel clean , the wooden furniture was sticky from years of use and the shower over bath had grime/mould in the corners. For the price it didn’t feel like value for money, but there are limited options nearby

A pleasant establishment, a lack...
Liked: The bedroom was comfortable, nice size bed.
Disliked: The bathrooms were not that clean with mould around plug holes and on the silicone grouting. The breakfast was £14 and the eggs were as hard as rubber, the tomatoes felt like they were boiled. In general not value for money.

Superb
Liked: Lovely room, bed was huge and very comfortable. Staff were very helpful. We didn't explore the grounds but enjoyed looking out on greenery. Breakfast was good but could have been kept stocked slightly more assiduously, twice in three days we had to ask for more milk.

We loved the room, the...
Liked: The bedroom was immaculately clean and the facilities within the room were wonderful.
Disliked: No actual information folder/booklet within the room about breakfast/meal times etc. This information was provided, but on the back of a very small card that your key card came in. The staff, when you could find someone, where very friendly and helpful, but you are obviously short staffed as the garden area was not cleared after lunch (full ash trays and empty glasses/plates left until after dinner service). At breakfast, the crockery was stained and cracked, there were a lot of dead flies on the window ledges, fried eggs perhaps not a good option to serve in a buffet as completely solid yolk, and sadly the english tea bags tasted so old, they must have come from the civil war!

Disappointing.
Liked: Bed was comfortable, breakfast OK, and wi-fi worked well.
Disliked: Room was excessively warm, not helped by heated towel rail in bathroom which was on full blast and couldn't be turned off. Extremely disappointed to be told with only 1 hour's notice that the restaurant was closed on the Saturday evening.

A lovely Hotel providing the...
Liked: A lovely, quiet hotel surrounded by countryside. It had a bar and comfortable lounge and the meals ordered from the bar in the evening were tasty and well presented. The bedrooms were comfortable and were ideal for us as we had patio doors which we could open easily to walk the dog when she needed to go out. Being a pet friendly hotel was of great importance to us, so thank you.
Disliked: The breakfast was adequate and a full English breakfast was available to order. It would have been better if there had been a menu offering alternative to the traditional hot breakfast. Also more of a selection in the buffet section in terms of a variety of cereals, pastries, fruit and nuts including fresh fruit such as bananas strawberries, apples etc. would be appealing.
