What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean rooms, and great value. The location is praised for its easy access to both the airport and downtown. Travelers also appreciate the indoor heated pool and the quiet atmosphere after a noisy night out.

Areas for Improvement

This isn’t a luxury stay, and some guests mention that the decor is a bit dated. While the neighborhood is convenient, it’s more functional than scenic. Still, the hotel more than makes up for it with cleanliness, comfort, and value.

The Bottom Line

A reliable, budget-friendly choice for concert-goers who want a quiet, comfy place to recharge—without missing a beat of the Louisville music scene.

Bobby, Irvine, visiting Zanzabar Louisville

People were leaving when we walked in. Most disgusting room I've ever walked into. A lot of the rooms had bed bugs. Can not believe this place is even allowed to operate.

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Bed bugs.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Ann, Perry, visiting Whitney Hall

There is a man that stands with an angry look and arms folded as you are checked in. He does this same thing at their terrible "free" breakfast. The second it turns 9:30 he is running to grab the disgusting breakfast items as fast as possible so no one can have seconds (why they would want them is beyond me) - there is nuked sausage, nuked round egg "slices", same exact tray of donuts and bagels both days; the orange juice tasted like it was as old as dirt. Unripe oranges and cereal with no labels so you can't tell if it's gluten free or not. The only decent thing is the waffles, which aren't gluten free and they were out of mix the first day. The pool had pieces of the ceiling in it and signs all over that if there are more than 5 people in the pool (seriously??) at once they will get a fine of $100. Also no one is allowed to swim alone or they will get fined $100 also. The "hot tubs" are stuffed away in the bathroom and the water in the bathrooms is so chlorinated it comes out blue and leaves a "taste" in the air. Definitely NOT worth the exorbant price they charge.

Liked: The maid didn't bother us, as we stayed 2 days.
Disliked: Everything else.

We stayed for the National Quartet Convention (Freedom Hall) and the staff was really helpful in giving us instructions on how to find our routes to different places in town. Room was clean.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful.

AVOID THIS PLACE

Liked: The bed was comfortable.
Disliked: We spent two nights in this hotel and there was no hot water for the entire time.We were not able to check out after the first night because we had booked third party and could not get any assistance from booking.com customer support. Now, the property and booking.com refuse to refund ANY amount of money at all. This is not the first time I've stayed at this hotel and had the hot water go out, but the first time it was back within a few hours, so we thought it was just a fluke. I know better now.My advice, Avoid this place. The water was my main concern, but it was one among several. The carpet felt grimy under barefeet, the phone in my room didn't work, the door latch was broken, the main lamp didn't have a light bulb in it, the bathroom door didn't lock, the whirlpool tub appeared cracked; not sure if that was actually a problem, since there was NO HOT WATER for my entire stay.

A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE

Liked: Nothing at all:
Disliked: I did not like how there was mold on my bed. How we had to move rooms 3 different times. How I got sick from being highly allergic to mold. Did not like the blood stains on my covers. The awful smell that lingers through the rooms. This was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. It is also directly beside a homeless shelter so I do not recommend especially when traveling with small children like I was.
