Quality Inn Southside Jacksonville

The best thing about a Best Western is no surprises. The room and linen is always clean including the cover. Also, everything works. I had to stay in another hotel recently - room phone did not work and the in room coffee pot did not work. So glad to get my BW this time.

Have stayed here 3 times in past few months and really like the location, staff, rooms, breakfast. Will stay again.

This room and the service...

Liked: Breakfast wasn't bad.Parking was good.
Disliked: All of these items were discovered on first entering the room (#122).There was a BAD Smell in the Room. It smelled Musty/Mildew/Moldy.There was a Smudge on the full-length Mirror; It looked like a small child's dirty hands smeared some kind of bodily fluid.There were also handprints on the bed's headboard on the right side.These items were reported to the night desk clerk, who said "since I'm the only one here, I'll be the one to clean that".This did not happen. The smudges and handprints were never cleaned.This item was discovered in the morning.The refrigerator had a large amount of water puddling every morning. Somehow, it leaked inside the refrigerator and ruined all the food we put in it the night before. Even when we put the food inside a plastic bag. Lastly, and most disturbing, there was a footprint on the flat sheet on the bed on the left.

The hotel is run down...

Liked: The location was good. It was a busy area but the hotel was off by itself and didn’t feel so secure. The bed was relatively comfortable but pillows were thin.
Disliked: We refused the first room they offered us because it strongly smelled of mold & mildew. We refused the second room because the room door would not shut and lock properly. We took the third room which was barely passable. The door required force to open and close. The toilet paper holder was so close to the toilet it was almost impossible to sit on the toilet. The room was generally clean but the carpet, towels and furniture was in serious need of replacement.

Disliked: Entire hotel smelled like smoke mixed with mold, I have allergies and kept having coughing fits. I would not recommend anyone stay that has allergies or asthma . I was told I would be refunded for the third night we did not stay. still have not received the refund
