A good choice, but wouldn’t...

Liked: Beautiful period property with stunning decor and interior. The pub/restaurant is really beautiful and very comfortable place to be.
Disliked: The rooms leave some room for improvement really. We were in the Burford Suite and there were several issues we found, considering it was a suite. The most important one of all is the sheer lack of privacy in the room. The very large window is directly overlooking the main car park of the hotel, which is quite busy, and if you are sat on the bed or the chairs, people can see straight in to you. Quite unusual really, because the only option was to close the curtains which then creates blackout darkness during the middle of the day. Not ideal. A half-height window curtain would’ve been ideal and something I would have thought would’ve been considered before. I really wouldn’t recommend the breakfast here either, they’re not enjoyable at all. Mine was overcooked so terribly, and others in the room were encountering similar issues. The bacon was simply inedible.

Disappointing

Liked: Dog friendly. Food good. Beer good.
Disliked: 'Courtyard' room good set up for staying with a dog but rubbish from florist Business lying around. Rubbish trolleys wheeled past room late at night - mentioned to staff in the morning but didn't seem overly bothered. Electronic 'beep' every 30 seconds all night - seemed to be coming from a freezer room/ store. With these combined - no sleep. If you drop anything under the bed, don't bother to retrieve it - thick with dust, hair & rubbish. Food good but breakfast lacked quantity.Offered a discount via the Butcombe app, this didn't work so there was no discount. No, definitely wouldn't stay again.
