A small break from hell.

Liked: Location lovely, breakfast very nice.
Disliked: My son had a accident in his room, bad lacerations to his foot from the bedroom carpet to the bathroom on 20th August 2025. The hotel didn't apologise until I had to send the owner of the castle a message plus photographs of my sons foot then someone offered a discount for the next stay, laughable, will not be staying their again.Oh the small double bed in our room was awful, didn't sleep very well, had to have the fans on constantly as there was no air in the room, the one small window doesn't open very wide.

Beautifull place, but not prepared...

Liked: The casle itself is stunning (exact as expected as I know place before); however walking area was restricted comparing to my previous visits few years back. My guests were pleased with the choice of the castle. My personal fellings as a host were slightly different.
Disliked: It is hard to get a coffee at the morning, or a drink at the evening, especially when you would like to seat outside. Walking areas around the castle feels smaller than before. It give you the felling that place is prepared to host an events rather than regular guests. Will chose another castle next time.

Picturesque place.

Liked: Breakfast was fine but would have liked a choice of black pudding.
Disliked: Lady staff on reception who answered the phone to us on the Tuesday evening. Confusing what she was telling us. Said we could have an upstairs room then found we hadn’t. Also telling us there was a meal deal we could have with our stay. Didn’t tell us there was restaurant was fully booked for our stay.

Quaint stay, however not first...

Liked: Beautiful building so much potential
Disliked: Dusty, cob webs in our room and a bartender with no knowledge of cocktails, she actually told us what we should drink based on what she knew how to make…not probably what you are going for…certainly not what we are used to in a hotel….breakfast service very slow, but super nice staff…

I will be back to...

Liked: Beautiful setting, grounds and castle are great. 7 course dinner at the 1851 restaurant was amazing, staff and chef were brilliant and couldn’t fault it.
Disliked: Room we had was very basic, warm/noisy and bed wasn’t great.
