The Spotlight on Parkwood Hotel

Classic Comfort Just Steps from Hyde Park and Oxford Street

A charming, traditional London stay, Parkwood Hotel sits on a quiet street just off Hyde Park, offering guests a cozy, homey vibe in the heart of the city. With a prime location just a 5-minute walk from Marble Arch station and bustling Oxford Street, it’s a great base for visitors looking to explore London’s music, shopping, and cultural scenes. Expect floral furnishings, daily full English breakfasts, and a warm welcome.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re just a short Tube ride away from many of London’s top music venues, and Marble Arch station is less than 5 minutes on foot. After a late-night gig, the peaceful neighborhood makes it easy to wind down, and Hyde Park’s open space is ideal for a laid-back morning recovery stroll. While check-in starts at 14:00, early arrivals can relax in the lounge. Be aware there is no elevator, so pack light if you’re heading to a multi-night festival.

Who this Hotel is great for

• Groups of friends who want a central yet quiet crash pad
• Solo travelers ticking off a bucket-list performance
• Couples seeking a romantic weekend near the park
• Fans who prefer downtime after the encore
• Budget-conscious music lovers who value location over luxury

Food and Drink Options

Start the day right with a hearty full English breakfast, served onsite. While the hotel itself doesn’t have a restaurant or bar, the surrounding area is packed with cafés, pubs, and late-night eateries just a stroll away. You’re also a short walk from Oxford Street’s endless dining options, perfect for a pre-show dinner or post-concert snack.

Nightlife Options

Though Parkwood Hotel is more about classic charm than clubbing, you’re within easy reach of central London’s bars, lounges, and live music venues. Whether you're heading to a famous concert hall or looking for a laid-back pub with craft beer, everything is just a short Tube or taxi ride away.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise Parkwood Hotel for its quiet location, friendly staff, and excellent value. Many love the proximity to both Hyde Park and central transit links, noting it’s a great spot for a short London stay. The breakfast gets high marks, and reviewers often mention the homey, traditional British feel.

Areas for Improvement

The lack of an elevator can be tricky for those with lots of luggage or mobility concerns, especially after a long night out. Rooms are on the smaller side, but they’re clean and well-equipped for a city stay.

The Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a quiet, affordable, and well-located base for your London concert adventures, Parkwood Hotel hits all the right notes.

Great quality for money, highly...

Liked: The staff were so lovely and friendly, the room was nice and clean and breakfast was lovely. Great value for money and a perfect place to stay if your visiting Hyde park as just over the road.
Disliked: There wasn’t anything we disliked about the property although it was a little run down which is expected from an old building.

Good for location, overpriced and...

Liked: Great location - not far from Marble Arch tube and Paddington station. Just around the corner from Hyde Park so perfect for concert-goers. Staff polite and pleasant.
Disliked: We were given a twin room with a bathroom in the basement - although we had fan, didn't feel safe with window open, so had to keep it closed on a hot night. Felt like we were staying in a literal storeroom - pretty charmless, although it ticked the facilities boxes. Didn't reflect the price, regardless of the location, and would put on a level with a B and B, not a hotel.Breakfast was basic buffet - nothing cooked to order and people sharing v large tables as no small ones - no one seemed thrilled about that! Food ticked boxes but nothing remarkable and no pastries on offer. Waitress didn't seem able to speak English so had to ask a few times for things.

Great location, friendly staff.

Liked: A few minutes walk from Hyde Park, so an excellent location for what we needed.Close to bus and tube links. The staff were all very friendly.Breakfast was basic but good and freshly made.Everything was clean and tidy.Comfortable bed.
Disliked: I'd recommend letting them know if you're not good with stairs as the property has many floors. We were fine but some may not be.The decor could do with an update as the wallpaper was hanging off and repaired with tape and the furniture is quite bulky for the size of the room.
