Good location with great facilities

Liked: Really good sized room in an excellent location near Hyde Park (good for BST festival) and the Bakerloo underground line. Lots of facilities and things inside the room - toothbrushes, razors, water, good-sized fridge, peanuts, biscuits etc. Decent air con in this hot weather. Good breakfast too with lots of variety - full English, cereals, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, fresh orange and apple juice.
Disliked: We were located in the building opposite reception and our room was next to the main door - people coming in and out throughout the night and the door slamming meant we didn’t get a good night’s sleep at all. Consider a soft-close door! Also the key never worked for the main door so we’d have to go back to reception every time we wanted to get back in.

Liked: Decent size room for Central London. Great location, so near underground and train. Nice places to eat nearby. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Old-fashioned hotel in a great...

Liked: Exceptional staff - especially the very professional young woman at the desk during most of our visit (Shefalk? Shefalq?) She was able to assign a room before the designated time, and when the room proved to have a problem (non-functioning aircon) she transferred us to another room the next day. Location of the hotel is excellent - several very fine local restaurants within a few minutes' walk. Nice little touches like a fridge in the room, and welcome wine/chocolates. Comfortable bed. Very clean.
Disliked: The air conditioning wasn't terribly efficient - when it worked at all - and no instructions were provided in the room for adjusting the controls. Our second room was very, very small and difficult to navigate around - nowhere to store anything or open a case.

Disliked: It was an awful stay. Tiny room and blood was on the sheets

Nice staff, acceptable accommodation

Liked: Location is good, well connected to local public transport and walking distance to Hyde Park. I had an issue with the first room assigned and the reception staff changed it immediately with no questions.
Disliked: The hotel is looking tired both in the communal areas and the rooms themselves. The bed wasn't especially comfortable and cleanliness was acceptable rather than great.

Bad

Disliked: I have stayed at this property before and had an amazing experience, however this stay I got an email at 4pm (check in is at 3pm) to say that due to maintenance issues there was no rooms available. They booked me at their sister hotel in Mayfair. There was no compensation for this even though the travel was further and more expensive, and the facilities didn’t include a gym. Even after following up with both hotels I have received no answer and there has been a huge lack of communication regarding how to rectify this issue. Really sad considering I have had previous bookings and have future bookings already for this hotel chain

Don't stay if you want...

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: The hotel cancelled my booking 3 hours before check in. Ok they booked us elsewhere but the hotel was not up to standards.
