Okay - but not what...
Liked: The man working in reception was extremely polite, helpful and professional.The location of the hotel was good.The room itself was clean and comfortable.
Disliked: The hotel stay was booked months in advance. I was emailed the day prior to our stay explaining the hotel had an ‘unforeseen maintenance issue’ and due to this, we were moved to their sister location. I have very good reason to believe the excuse for moving location due to maintenance was a lie - which if true is very concerning from an integrity perspective.Having looked at other reviews since, it appears this has also happened to others previously. Although only a short distance from the original location, I believe the replacement hotel offered is a generally lower standard hotel. We were not offered a refund for the difference in cost, but instead given a ‘complimentary breakfast’. On the morning though this was not with out issue, as the restaurant staff said we were only entitled to a continental breakfast. The staff working in the restaurant were very unhelpful, however fortunately the reception staff member sorted this quickly for us.Please be wary when booking this hotel, as there seems to be a good chance you will be moved location with very little notice.

Avoid!!!!
Liked: Nothing. This hotel is not even open. They claim they aren't taking reservations due to 'major maintenance issues' yet they are still taking reservations and full payment.
Disliked: When we arrived we were informed we couldn't stay there. I booked and paid for the accommodation 11 months ago and kept receiving updates, confirmations and reminders up to 30 minutes before we arrived.The receptionist was rude and unhelpful. She said booking.com should have transferred us. I contacted booking.com - I was kept on hold for 38 minutes before they ended the call. I organised my own alternative accommodation and emailed booking.com several times. As yet, I haven't received any correspondence or a refund. Not good enough.

Extremely disappointed and appalling attitude...
Liked: Firstly we were relocated previous day to sister company, we’re given 2 separate rooms as opposed to family room originally booked.Room was very noisy as were located on ground floor, the main door into building seemed to slam shut and vibration could be felt in bed, this seemed as if it was happening every 1/2 hrs of stay, this made it difficult to have a good nights sleep which was not great when faced with a 6hr drive home. On raising complaint with reception on check out we were simply told ‘what do want me to do about it’ by receptionist, which I found extremely rude. Not once did they apologise, in all honesty the worst experience I’ve ever had.Breakfast was not the best as sausages looked as if they had been cooked if dirty fat as they were covered in black bits from fryer.Shower trays were blocked with door frame into room looking battered as if an attempt had been made to force way into room.Housekeeping also very loud banging into walls etc from about 6am onwardsWould definitely recommend to avoid at all costs and at £300 per night extremely poor value with unpleasant staff
