First visit, but not last. Good first impressions. Excellent welcome and easy check in. Classic double was very roomy and spotlessly clean with a large bed which was very comfortable. Good sized bathroom with good selection of toiletries, lovely towels and brilliant shower, although shower cubicle could have been a tad bigger, but no complaint. Room nicely decorated and loads of space, drawers and wardrobe. Room extras were excellent with hairdryer, iron and board, plus a good selection of teas and coffees as well as mineral water. Breakfast was great with a good variety of food and drinks. Dishes replaced and topped up regularly. All staff were brilliant, polite, helpful and efficient. We will return and hotel location also ideal for the BIC, Pavilion, beach and town centre. Great parking opposite hotel too. Highly recommended.
Liked: Everything.

Good value and location
Liked: Excellent value for money given the location. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food at the annexed restaurant was very good - especially the breakfast.
Disliked: The parking is in an unlit gravel car park off site from the hotel.

Great location, horrible receptionist and...
Liked: Location was really good. 10 min walk to the beach and parking available nearby hotel. There is no parking at the hotel though.
Disliked: One of the worst receptionist ever encountered. She was beyond rude and did not care about comfort and looked absolutely disinterested in the job that was given to her. If this hotel has any chance of survival it needs to make sure that the guests feel welcomed. She also gave us wrong information to top it up for fun around parking.

Underwhelming
Liked: Nice big room, comfortable bed, excellent location, good view over pier. Lovely towels, ample storage. Very clean. Mostly quiet at night.
Disliked: No air con, single lift frequently out of action and we were on 4th floor, entrance was on 2nd floor but breakfast was on 1st floor so a long walk up and down in very warm weather. Small poky bathroom with nowhere to store toiletries. There was a fridge but it wasn't cold enough and milk went off in 3 days, I was storing my spare insulin in there and have since thrown it away as I couldn't be sure it was safe.Annoyingly there were no teaspoons, only coffee stirrers, which are not ideal for removing tea bags. No tumblers, just cheap, plastic beakers. There was a large wardrobe and big chest of drawers but they were quite old and most of the drawers did not open easily.Breakfast was included but it was a soulless affair and very unimaginative, a continental breakfast or cereal and a pretty basic but well cooked breakfast. Toast was hard to get hold of, one partially toasted slice came with the cooked breakfast and we were only ever asked if we wanted more once in a week. Waiting staff were not particularly welcoming, the coffee was self serve from an urn which I found very difficult to use as it needed a lot of pressure, there was rarely anyone available to help. There was no real lobby or seating area in the hotel, the only bar was connected to the restaurant and wasn't really in the hotel at all. We ate at the Crab Restauant one night but didn't enjoy it, I had fish and chips, although the fish was quite nice the chips were huge, allegedly thrice cooked, but they somehow lost all essence of what a chip should be. I'd have rather had decent chips than the rather odd addition of the "chef's surprise," which took the form of a large shell on prawn and a scallop sitting bizarrely on a dollop of mashed potato.
