Fantastic location, great service -...

Liked: Unique location and wonderful staff make this hotel really amazing. Breakfast is good as well, though I would prefer a buffet, rather than choosing from the a la carte menu.
Disliked: REally, there is nothing to complain.

Disappointing service and false advertisement.

Liked: The property is a historic and grand house, and nestled in the beautiful countryside of Gower Peninsula.
Disliked: The staff and room were a let down honestly. The room was advertised as having “sound proofing” but we were kept up in the evening and in the morning because we could hear all of the conversations from our neighbors rooms. I don’t just mean muffled noise either - it was like they were right there in the room with us. Also, we could hear one of our neighbors whenever they went to the toilet. This was HIGHLY unpleasant as it sounded like they were doing their business directly next to our heads as we tried to drift off. I have never had this happen in a hotel or B&B. If I wanted to listen to someone peeing or pooping, I would have booked us a cheap hostel with a shared bathroom, not a nice hotel costing almost £200 a night. We were also told the wrong time for breakfast by the manager, so we missed the meal - on arrival we were told 8:30 - 10:30, but apparently it was 8:30 - 9:45. In most cases, this wouldn’t be an issue. Everyone is human, and misspeaks or forgets things, and we are a very laid back couple. Instead, it was handled poorly by the manager who immediately began shifting the blame onto us because “she checked us in, and would never make that mistake”, despite us both remembering the times being 8:30 - 10:30. Her tone was extremely patronizing and made us feel uncomfortable and stupid. At this point we just decided to check out and eat elsewhere, as the tension was becoming awkward. When we made this clear the manager became erratic, and started to grab my arm and insist we stay and that they would make us something. This made it even more awkward as she continued to blame us, but also hang on to me. Highly unprofessional, and left us feeling frustrated and frankly angry. As I said, we are a young, laid back couple. It is very rare that hospitality misgivings disgruntle us.The entire interaction made us check out immediately. It also set the tone for our trip.

Great location and nice rooms

Liked: Great location and super friendly staff. Nice rooms with plenty of space just missing a few nice touches. Great to get a cuppa on arrival and luggage help as the stairs are a bit steep. Fantastic breakfast choice.
Disliked: A few minor things like no tissues in the room. The menu is good but small and repeats every day so you exhaust it after a day or two.

Liked: Beautiful old building in a wonderful location
Disliked: The room was noisy- we could hear every conversation next door. Also we expected more from the restaurant- the menu was unadventurous and limited
