Beautiful and peaceful place. Perfect...

Liked: Beautiful location tucked away in a quiet area. Staff were friendly and helpful and we had everything we needed for our stay. We were able to visit lots of nearby places and enjoyed coming back to warm up in front of the heater on the colder autumn nights. We look forward to returning for another stay.

Relaxed, well run and felt...

Liked: Overall we found the location and facility excellent value. We had booked without much research at the last moment and our expectations were exceeded.
Disliked: The bathroom in the standard room we were first in was just a tad smaller than ideal, but later we moved to a larger room that was perfect.

Good value for money, to...

Liked: The hotel's location is beautiful! Very scenic and pleasing to the eye. The sound of birds chirping and the trees surrounding the grounds make it a very romantic location for a couple's get away. The bed was very comfortable and having the AC/heating unit be so close to the bed is wonderful.
Disliked: The bathroom is terrible. Very cramped unfortunately, so even just having one person in there makes it an awkward and difficult experience. The shower doesn't provide much water flow and so having a shower is doable, but unless you're someone who like me, needs a shower to wake up in the morning and hates going even just a day without one, it's not worth it. You're better off showering somewhere else, wherever that may be, home, a friend's place, etc. Equalising water temperature is a challenge. You can either have it be scolding hot or freezing cold, it doesn't leave much room to have a nice warm shower. The knobs are really stubborn and hard to adjust, almost like they're rusted.

Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Overall the stay was good;...

Liked: Breakfast was good when we first arrived as it was a cooked breakfast with poached or scrambled eggs, cooked mushrooms or tomatoes and bacon, this was when a large group of people were attending a conference with presentations and workshops. The location was a very beautiful nature garden in the Dandenong mountains, it was a very peaceful bushland setting.
Disliked: Unfortunately when the large group of people having a conference departed, there was no more cooked breakfast, which was very disappointing. There was only a continental breakfast available, consisting of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, blueberries, sliced peaches, bread for making toast and freshly brewed coffee which was acceptable, however, not quite as good as having a cooked breakfast which I missed. There was no dinner available at the hotel which would have made the stay much better as you would not need to venture out in the cold Melbourne weather and drive to a restaurant for dinner. The water supply in the shower consistently was going from hot to cold and you were not able to regulate the temperature properly; there was something wrong with the plumbing. After the first large group of people departed the hotel, the comfortable lounge chairs in front of the gas fire place were removed as more tables and chairs were set up for another large group of people that were arriving for a conference during the day. Unfortunately, without the comfortable lounge chairs in place you were unable to relax and sit down in front of the gas fire place in the dining room were the bar is located.

Passable

Liked: It was very cheap. We needed a fast booking at 4 pm and it was available.
Disliked: Room was ok. Supposedly king but didn't seem like it. It's more of a function centre than motel. In the 3 nights we were there no one came into the room to empty bins or add tea and coffee items. No clean towels were offered. In fact, apart from on check in, we saw no staff.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Disappointing

Liked: They provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower.
Disliked: Our room had no bar fridge and the mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. Very small bathroom. Carpark and lighting not well at night and no clear signage.

Okay for one night

Liked: Beautiful grounds and location
Disliked: Our room was freezing and the heater made so much noise it was impossible to have it on, plus other guests outside our room were loud throughout the night
