Very Good - 4 out of 5

Virginia, Monterey Mon, 17 December 2018

Sweet 9 room inn. Quiet; friendly staff; updated bathroom; you even get a continental breakfast; close to everything including Kaiser Stadium.

Liked: Close to Kaiser Stadium and downtown. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Bathroom was all new.
Disliked: Not too loud thumping music at dance club next door, but stopped at 11:00 - so not too bad.

The staff really took care of us. Breakfast was excellent. The room was cute and quaint. The hotel was within walking distance to town, shops and restaurants. If we are ever in Santa Cruz again, we will definitely stay here.

Liked: Everything!
Disliked: We did not have any negative experiences.

Convenient location for walk to The Catalyst for a concert at night and to the beach the next morning. Very contemporary room interior; the bathroom was especially cool with the zero-step entry to shower.

Liked: Very friendly staff, particularly Elise in the Front Office, who shared help tips on where to eat and places to go.
Disliked: None.

Beautiful small hotel a few blocks from the Catalyst. Little fire pit outside, super comfy bed, very kind staff. Loved it!

Fantastic, new favorite hotel in...

Liked: Fantastic location - super easy walk to transition for the Santa Cruz half Ironman, boardwalk, beach, etc. Compared to other Santa Cruz hotels, this place is amazing. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, nice updated, plus there are delicious afternoon snacks!
Disliked: It was really noisy our second night but that was probably more the fault of other guests, the apartments next door, and the live music down the street.

The facility made a holiday...

Liked: Location, close to wharf, Boardwalk, restaurants and the beach. Staff was very helpful great communication about where to park and unload for the room. The cookies in the lobby each night were great, and they have a coffee machine that makes multiple types of coffees and also hot chocolate that were very good. We will be back on our next trip through Santa Cruz.

Would have rather stayed at...

Liked: Location is great. Close to downtown so don’t have to pay for parking or Ubers to go out on the weekend. Redwoods were spectacular.
Disliked: The water station was not visible and looked very dirty. The flooring in my room were uneven. Room could use a rug for comfort. Odd that there was only staff there until 3:30. I couldn’t figure out how to get the fire pit to turn on, and it felt weird to text a staff member’s cell at night. Chairs in the room were uncomfortable, WiFi was weak so ended up having to use my cell signal for a work call. There were pastries out for some of the day but I’m Celiac so I couldn’t have any. I recommend having granola bars, and non-caffeinated tea types and a kettle.
