A rural gem

Liked: We stopped here because I hadI read several glowing reviews and because we were ready to be off the interstate and the chain motel routine. The drive from I-94 to Whitehall was 16 miles of serenely lovelyl farmland and rolling hills. Our innkeeper told us something of the architect who built this classic home--inspired by Mt. Vernon. The landscaping was beautiful, as were the beds of lilies, hosta, and even hollyhocks. Our room was inviting, spotless, and the ventilation, which was well set up in advance of our coming on a clear, low humidity day, let us sleep well without the need for the air conditioner. The next morning we took a new backroad toward another small town we already knew, Osseo, Wisconsn, where we ate breakfast at The Norske Nook, a favorite stop on our way back to the Interstate.We will do this again!
Disliked: We would love to have a comfort height toilet!

Great stay at Oak Park...

Liked: Great location and scenery. The host was very friendly and shared local events that were going on. The room was comfortable and clean. It was an excellent stay. Highly recommend this location.
