The Spotlight on Millennium Hotel Glasgow

Elegant Comfort Right on George Square

Modern yet timeless, Millennium Hotel Glasgow places you in the beating heart of the city. This classic hotel sits right on George Square, just steps from Glasgow Queen Street Station and a short walk from top shopping streets and concert venues. With stately interiors and comfortable rooms, it's a solid choice for music lovers who want to be close to the action without sacrificing a good night's sleep.

Why Concert-goers love it

You can walk to the O2 Glasgow in about 15 minutes, making it easy to skip the taxi queue after the encore. The hotel’s central location means you’ve got late-night transport options like buses and trains nearby, and being next to Queen Street Station is a major plus. Though located in a lively area, the rooms are well-insulated, giving you a quiet place to recharge after the show. Check-in starts at 15:00 and check-out is a relaxed 11:00, leaving time for a late breakfast or slow morning after a big night out.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want to stay together and explore the city’s music scene
  • Solo travelers ticking off their dream concert
  • Couples planning a romantic music-filled weekend
  • Fans seeking a quiet and comfortable post-gig retreat
  • Budget-conscious concert-goers who still want a central location

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no 24/7 room service, the hotel has on-site dining options and is surrounded by walkable restaurants and pubs. Whether you're grabbing a bite before the show or finding a spot to wind down after, you won’t have to go far. Breakfast is available and well-timed for those who had a late night.

Nightlife Options

You're surrounded by Glasgow’s buzzing nightlife. From classic pubs to stylish cocktail bars and live music joints, there’s something for every vibe just a short stroll away. While the hotel itself doesn’t offer live music, its location makes it easy to hop from venue to venue or finish the night with a local craft drink nearby.

What People Say

Guests love the unbeatable location, especially for getting to concerts and exploring Glasgow on foot. Many praise the friendly staff and the atmosphere of the historic building. The comfy beds and clean rooms also score points with concert-goers recovering from a big night.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers mention that parts of the hotel could use a refresh, and Wi-Fi can be spotty in certain rooms. The décor leans traditional, so if you're after super-modern style, this might not be your perfect match—but it makes up for it with charm and location.

The Bottom Line

Millennium Hotel Glasgow is a classic, centrally-located choice that makes concert nights easy and post-show recovery even easier.

Disappointing

Liked: Central position in Glasgow. Clean bedding and towels.
Disliked: Very dated. Expensive for what is offered. Needs refurbishing. Poor quality breakfasts (£15:00 per person per day). Better and much cheaper breakfast from Weatherspoons around the corner. Friends stayed close by in the Premier Inn which offered far better value for a better all round offering.

Disappointing

Disliked: Very tired & needs serious redecoration of rooms and updating of bathrooms. Shower had v low power & outdated bathroom fittings. Windows jammed shut with peeling paint, ceiling paint peeling & carpets stained. Bath tub had multiple enamel chips & sink very old & tired, a throwback to 1980s. Great location but no money spent on maintenance

Central hotel, value for money...

Liked: The location of the hotel is very central and for train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious, it was a little noisy as it faced the main road and square but it was alright, we were tired so we got a sleep. The breakfast wasnt up to much, but there were things we could have. We went at 9.30am so maybe most things were fnished by then. Overall a good stay at a lovely, clean hotel. Probably wouldnt spend £15 on breakfast though.
