The Spotlight on Millennium Hotel Glasgow

Elegant Comfort Right on George Square

Modern yet timeless, Millennium Hotel Glasgow places you in the beating heart of the city. This classic hotel sits right on George Square, just steps from Glasgow Queen Street Station and a short walk from top shopping streets and concert venues. With stately interiors and comfortable rooms, it's a solid choice for music lovers who want to be close to the action without sacrificing a good night's sleep.

Why Concert-goers love it

You can walk to the O2 Glasgow in about 15 minutes, making it easy to skip the taxi queue after the encore. The hotel’s central location means you’ve got late-night transport options like buses and trains nearby, and being next to Queen Street Station is a major plus. Though located in a lively area, the rooms are well-insulated, giving you a quiet place to recharge after the show. Check-in starts at 15:00 and check-out is a relaxed 11:00, leaving time for a late breakfast or slow morning after a big night out.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want to stay together and explore the city’s music scene
  • Solo travelers ticking off their dream concert
  • Couples planning a romantic music-filled weekend
  • Fans seeking a quiet and comfortable post-gig retreat
  • Budget-conscious concert-goers who still want a central location

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no 24/7 room service, the hotel has on-site dining options and is surrounded by walkable restaurants and pubs. Whether you're grabbing a bite before the show or finding a spot to wind down after, you won’t have to go far. Breakfast is available and well-timed for those who had a late night.

Nightlife Options

You're surrounded by Glasgow’s buzzing nightlife. From classic pubs to stylish cocktail bars and live music joints, there’s something for every vibe just a short stroll away. While the hotel itself doesn’t offer live music, its location makes it easy to hop from venue to venue or finish the night with a local craft drink nearby.

What People Say

Guests love the unbeatable location, especially for getting to concerts and exploring Glasgow on foot. Many praise the friendly staff and the atmosphere of the historic building. The comfy beds and clean rooms also score points with concert-goers recovering from a big night.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers mention that parts of the hotel could use a refresh, and Wi-Fi can be spotty in certain rooms. The décor leans traditional, so if you're after super-modern style, this might not be your perfect match—but it makes up for it with charm and location.

The Bottom Line

Millennium Hotel Glasgow is a classic, centrally-located choice that makes concert nights easy and post-show recovery even easier.

Central location

Liked: Easy check-in. Right in the centre. Lovely staff. Easy check out. Comfy bed. Clean & tidy in then main. Dust on head board. Bathroom clean but a little dated. That said it was ideal for our purpose

Disappointing

Liked: Location
Disliked: 5 mins before reception staff appeared and then no appology that room was unavailable when arrived at 16.15. Did get alternative room but only because we complained as needed a room to change clothes. Room on top floor very warm, air-conditioning had clearly not worked for years (was not advertised as having aircon). Room generally in poor state, though clean

Overpriced and Uncomfortable Stay ،...

Liked: The only positive thing about this hotel is its location, as it’s close to everything. Other than that, there’s nothing worth recommending.
Disliked: The hotel was a very disappointing experience. The room was hot and uncomfortable, and instead of proper air conditioning they just gave me a fan, which only made things worse and gave me a headache. The staff were not helpful at all, and the bathroom was not clean – even the bathtub was dirty. The heat was unbearable and really ruined the stay. For the amount paid, there should at least be proper assistance and air conditioning in the room.

Well worth going again.

Liked: The staff were absolutely lovely, and explained everything I could possibly need to know. They were on hand immediately with recommendations to ease the rest of my stay. The bar area was really chilled out and welcoming. Security was great, as you needed to use your key-card to use the lifts and open the doors to the staircase to the rooms. The room was really spacious, with a nice tea-tray and kettle too.
Disliked: The room was a bit dated, though immaculately presented

Not worth it at all

Liked: Central location, friendly staff
Disliked: The room was completely falling apart, it was unpleasantly hot because the windows didn't open and the A/C didn't work, garbage from the last guest was still in the bin, and the sink didn't have hot water. Breakfast was terrible, as well. Just stay away.
