Midtown West Hotel

I guess they give you a balcony to sit and watch people, kinda stupid in my opinion, but nowhere says i couldn't smoke there, I also tried calling them and couldn't, i would get this message saying "do not disturb " which is scary! , they came to my room to i guess kick me out cus when i finally got a hold of them to find out my check out time it's it was already time to check out so I just needed a few minutes to gather my stuff and be out. I understand is New York city but the fact that they literally busted into their room next-door because "I didn't hear them knocking" on my door and then proceeded to start yelling at me telling me I was gonna get arrested. How I was smoking in the room ; mind you I never once smoked in the room and even open the door to show them. I don't have a problem with them telling me I couldn't do this. It was the way that they did it how it came out and how it made me feel which was like a criminal. I will never stay at this place again! there's also no elevator. And the door doesn't even have a proper lock. Thank God I have my own travel locker because who knows what else could've happened.

Liked: Honestly, the location is all.
Disliked: Customer Service; no elevator; not proper door lock.

Bad

Disliked: I stayed at this hotel and was bitten by bedbugs. All over my body. I made a complaint and I ask for a refund because this is not possible. They do not respect the safety of the guests and they did not care. I showed them pictures and everything where you can see that they were bitten by bedbugs and later I developed an allergy. Be very careful if you stay at this hotel because bedbugs are very serious and you can even bring them home with you in your suitcase and it is very difficult to get rid of them. If I could give less than one star I would. Do not stay at this hotel!

Great for a few days...

Liked: Was very close to Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and B&H Photo Store. It was clean and the staff was friendly and competent.
Disliked: Not the fault of the establishment at all. Would have liked an elevator!!

Disliked: The stairs after all day walking. No room cleaning unless you ask.

Liked: Someone was there to let me in at 2am
Disliked: As a solo, female traveller I felt uncomfortable in the area. I was meant to stay for 2 nights, but checked into a different hotel the next morning. (I’d arrived at 2am so just spent the night.Even though you needed a key card to access the room, I still felt unsafe because the chain lock was broken off and physical lock didn’t work. I woke up with bug bites around both of my ankles.

Disliked: Rooms were small and unorganised. Staff was also not cooperating and threat us that 200$ fine will be imposed

Not bad of a location,...

Liked: I like that. The location was not far from Times Square or upper manhattan.
Disliked: I didn’t like that the staff did not clean our room daily. Some other channels in the TV did not work. The TV was not a Smart TV, so you cannot stream. I saw two roaches in my room. There was no trashcan other than the trash from the restroom. Only enough toiletries for one day. The building has no elevator, just stairs. Check in is at three P.M. If you would like to come in sooner, you have to pay an extra $50.
