Midtown West Hotel

I guess they give you a balcony to sit and watch people, kinda stupid in my opinion, but nowhere says i couldn't smoke there, I also tried calling them and couldn't, i would get this message saying "do not disturb " which is scary! , they came to my room to i guess kick me out cus when i finally got a hold of them to find out my check out time it's it was already time to check out so I just needed a few minutes to gather my stuff and be out. I understand is New York city but the fact that they literally busted into their room next-door because "I didn't hear them knocking" on my door and then proceeded to start yelling at me telling me I was gonna get arrested. How I was smoking in the room ; mind you I never once smoked in the room and even open the door to show them. I don't have a problem with them telling me I couldn't do this. It was the way that they did it how it came out and how it made me feel which was like a criminal. I will never stay at this place again! there's also no elevator. And the door doesn't even have a proper lock. Thank God I have my own travel locker because who knows what else could've happened.

Liked: TV did not work...no elevator...4 floor hike with a 53 lb suitcase. one small roach I had to kill. staff was polite and helpful. bathroom too small to use. Price was good ...but room smaller than expected and not having a working TV or no TV remote made the stay much more unpleasant.

Close to Transportation but sketchy

Liked: The Location is perfect because it's steps from Penn Station and Amtrak Station but the neighborhood is sketchy, dirty and trashy
Disliked: The neighborhood is very dirty and sketchy. The hotel had bags of stuff right outside my room door. I kept smelling cigarette smoke through out the evening. The room was clean but felt dirty. No microwave in the room.
