Middle Eight - Preferred Hotels and Resorts

Liked: The location is fab, right in the middle of the theatres and next to covent garden.
Disliked: I sent the hotel a complaint e-mail and they didn't respond, we were kept up all night by an event in their bar Sycamore vibrating our bed with bass till the early hours of the morning, we were exhausted and it spoiled our stay, our room was dirty also, bedding and linens were clean but the showerhead was pink and mouldy, leftover conditioner splats all over the wall in the shower, someone else's dental denture glue packet was on the floor in the bathroom and a used q-tip was on the floor by the bin. The coffee machine was filthy and the carpets turned my husband's white socks brown. The windows were also rotten and need a clean. Understaffed during our stay, we had to cancel drinks at the bar as the bartender was there alone during peak bar hours and we were nearly late to the show we'd booked for sat waiting (not the bartenders fault). They responded to everyone's reviews on a review website other than mine and have ignored my complaint. Have stayed before and would have stayed again but we saw a distinct reduction in their service and facilities this time - won't be back.

Liked: Upon arrival all of the staff were welcoming attentive, warm and friendly. The bar staff were also attentive and welcoming.
Disliked: No enough water and coffee and milk in the room. I know you can ask for it but that is not particularly convenient.

Exceptional

A very enjoyable short break...

Liked: The location for Covent Garden, the theatres and within a short walk to Trafalgar Square is great. The nearest tube is Holborn a few minutes away.
Disliked: I'm not a fan of constant air conditioning in the room, but there is a control panel by the bed which allows you to alter the temperature.
