Fantastic position but very dated...

Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is perfect for walking tours around Winchester.We had a good view of the cathedral.
Disliked: Weirdly there was no guest information in the room, so I cannot comment on the food offerings or costings as nobody gave any details. The whole hotel needs refurbishment, our room had a cracked wash basin and badly stained toilet and bath. The hallway carpets are worn and in some places patched with tape. The lounge/bar had an odd atmosphere, it felt under stocked and things weren’t helped by the tools lying around that were being used for emergency repairs.The room was incredibly hot, the fan provided did its best but didn’t help much, there was no air conditioning.The biggest annoyance was the fact that the car park is not secure but you still have to pay an additional £15 a night to park.

Liked: Wonderful service especially at reception, who dealt quite beautifully with my elderly mother. Thanks so much. Bed was so comfortable and location was perfect.
Disliked: Having to pay for parking is always a bind. But understandable

Disliked: Very dated and badly maintained rooms. Cracks in sink and floor. Bathroom door was scratched. Curtains didn't cover the windows well so light shining in. Pillows were very uncomfortable. Decor really dated and bits broken. Toilet was stained.

Disliked: Good location and very comfortable bed and friendly staff loved that the bellls from the cathedral woke me up in the morning

Disliked: there seemed to be a staff door opposite our door that seemed to open and shut a lot . The mattress needed a good clean did not notice until we left how bad it was.
