Liked: The location was great the same as sixty years ago when it first opened.
Disliked: The windows in the bar area were a disgrace inside and outside with blown sealed units and ill fitting frames. The breakfast buffet had a poor selection of breads and there were no serving dishes to dispense the jams etc into. My room was at the back and was excessively noisy with delivery lorries (a concrete mixer at 6 am) and breakdown truck and various rubbish trucks. The outside of the building is in poor repair on the cathedral side with the fascias, windows and vents all needing renovations and a piece of rough woodchip boarding blocking a ? window thats had graffiti on it since 2022.

Liked: I love the big window in the room with a view of the cathedral. Very handy for the town, its facilities and bars/ restaurants.
Disliked: Buffet breakfast is fine, but no tea/ coffee or eggs made to order.

Lovely Location but disappointing rooms,...

Liked: The location is perfect as it is right next to the Cathedral. We ordered breakfast via room service and this arrived on time and was great. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
Disliked: Before arriving I upgraded my room to an executive which obviously cost more. I was very disappointed to see that the windows had moss growing in them and one window was broken and did not have a handle on it. The rooms were a little dated and could do with freshening up. The outside of the building down the side of the Cathedral (bar area), the windows are broken and in a shocking state.

Liked: Hotel location is great although need ear plugs as cathedral bells start early especially on Sunday! The hotel is in need of refurbishment as very tired. Although it is clean but lots need modernising. I would stay again but feel price needs to reflect the work required
