Not good, not awful, kind...

Liked: First, there's no staff at the desk before 10 or after 18. I needed a towel and just managed to find a staff member the THIRD day. I had to dry after showers with a t-shirt.Then, there's the rooms. So hot a couple of nights that all of us (men in a mixed room) had to sleep in our underwear and hope we weren't bothering anyone. The lounge is dim lighted and kind of depressing and don't even get me started on breakfast: I had it for free and only attempted to eat it once (it's just bananas and a few croissants like, from the week before, I'd say).It wasn't bad per se. Restrooms were clean and nice. It wasn't expensive at least and there's buses near to get everywhere. If someone put just a little effort, it would be okay.
Disliked: Well, I kind of mixed the whole thing in the paragraph before.

Good, affordable option for a...

Liked: The hostel is located in a really convenient location as you can get easy access to public transport (closest bus stop is just less than a few minutes away - walking distance). Just be aware that the neighborhood can be a bit rough, but if you're a solo female with some experience that shouldn't be an issue - it wasn't for me! :)The breakfast is a big plus, as it's served on time every day and it includes a good selection of breads, fruit, spreads, and coffee. There's plenty of room to store your food as well. The rooftop is also great - with views to the Hollywood sign. The dorm room I stayed in (female only) was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were also cleaned and well maintained.

Hostel stay

Liked: The staff was nice and the Hostel was actually really clean. I also enjoyed the free breakfast. The staff helped me out when I had to delay my check in.
Disliked: I didn't like the location of the hostel (prostitutes and gangs). There was a guy in my dorm that made me really uncomfortable, he was also incredibly loud and drunk every night (even though the rules state that you can't be drunk). Even though I liked the free breakfast, I feel like they should add more variety to the breakfast options.

Good price/ quality ratio !

Liked: There is a rooftop !!! With view of the Hollywood sign!! That is so cool. If you are looking for a cool place to stay in LA without breaking the wallet go there. I haven’t had the chance to try the breakfast, but I’m sure it’s good. About an hour and half on bus of LAX, witch is correct.

Good location. If you don’t...

Liked: Breakfast is breads and coffee. Not a substantial meal done as cheaply as possible. Fridge and kitchen area to cook. Too bad kitchen sink is on opposite side of the room. Big flat screen TV - when you can get the remote(s) to work - good luck!
Disliked: The staircase is so long and steep it’s like climbing Everest! I wasn’t the only guest complaining. A guy 20 years younger said he had foot pain too. I ended up in the hospital with plantar fasciitis in my right foot and couldn’t walk for almost 3 mos! First, The owner Mrs Kwon took me to her terrible acupuncturist instead of the hospital and I now have scars on my foot from his bad use of needles. Too many rules & metal bunk beds. Street noise facing Western Ave is loud even with ear plugs. Location is good unless you want to sleep…
