Lovely food, nice staff

Liked: Excellent food and super friendly staff. Towels were super fresh as was bedding.
Disliked: Had bedroom above bar which wasn't the best for noise levels, I could hear music and found it difficult to get off to sleep. Walls very thin and from 6am was awoken by a person vomiting till 8 am and flushing toilet multiple times. That wasn't the fault of the hotel but consideration of how thing the walls are would deter me from booking again whilst travelling for work.

Worst bed ever

Liked: The staff are all just lovely, and the food is excellent, really good quality.
Disliked: The room was cramped, tired, dated, and stuffy, small attic window and no fan.Bathroom was dingy and very basic.The bed was the main problem, it was rock hard, and uncomfortable like the springs and padding had collapsed, and it was so noisy, turning over was painful and set off a chain of creaks and groans that was really loud. Inspite of being exhausted after a busy few days I was wide awake till after 4 as it was impossible to get comfortable.I'd eat there again but would stay somewhere else.

Superb

Great staff, great food, great...

Liked: The staff was outstanding. I can’t say enough good things about them. The food is really good. The facility is charming and well restored. The location was great - near train station and grocery, and right across the street from a bus stop.
Disliked: The only downside was the beds, which is a significant downside in a BED and Breakfast. The mattresses and pillows were uncomfortable and need to be refreshed.

Would recommend this hotel.

Disliked: The beds were dreadful. Springs stuck in your back, so had to use spare duvet and blankets to put over them! Desperately need replacingPillows not much better. The tiny car park. Only spaces for 5 vehicles. It doesn't mention this anywhere on the website. If it's full, you have to park 5 minutes away.People vaping in the entrance on arrival.

Pretty good, would certainly visit...

Liked: Spacious, comfortable bedroom (en-suite had two washbasins which I've never experienced before). Good cooked breakfast available. Handy location if you want to visit Hadrian's wall.
Disliked: Couldn't park in either the street outside the hotel nor on the hotel's car park (both were full). Can't comment on the evening meals available as there was an issue with a non appearing chef. I could have done with being advised about this before we rocked up at the restaurant at 7.30pm. Ended up having a Sainsbury's meal deal in our bedroom. Still, hey ho, all part of life's rich pagent.
