Liked: Staff in the bar and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds, great shower. Nice towels. Clean. Very quiet.Home-made soup in the restaurant lovely.Great position, right next to river.
Disliked: Received an off-hand, bordering on unfriendly welcome.Radiator in room was stuck on high heat - the wi-fi controlled thermostat wasn't working. They tried to fix it but it came on again randomly in the middle of the night so the room was stifling hot, even with open window, and I hardly got any sleep.While some of the food was good, the meze platter was really poor (and very expensive). Breakfast so-so.

Excellent stay, great staff

Liked: Travelled to Haltwhistle to attend a ghost investigation at the nearby castle. Staff were very friendly and attentive to me sitting in the restaurant by myself whilst waiting for a friend. Room was spotless, bed very comfortable. I had seen the hotel in Four in a bed on the day I arrived so was hoping it would live up to the standards and I was not disappointed. Staff very friendly helping me with how to get into the hotel at 3am, no issues at all. Highly recommend this hotel.

Liked: Breakfast was really good and very substantial, set us up for the day. The location was excellent.
Disliked: We're used to having a fridge in our hotel room and missed that facility. Travelling with a large suitcase was difficult in such a small room as we had to push it into a different position on the floor to get in and out of the room or bathroom.
