Disliked: For the money I thought the room could have been more than it was. Lightly decorated for the theme.Shower water handle came off in my hand and pillows were lumpy. I guess I was expecting a huge WOW factor but didn’t really get it….

Liked: Unique Rooms and the best hotel pool ever

Liked: The overall kookiness, decor and ambience are great - definitely lived up to the reputation. The dining room is a wonder, and the staff was superlative.
Disliked: There was a strange smell in the room, which seemed a bit redolent of retirement homes. It was only when we smelled it in the bar at breakfast that we realised it's the particular brand of cleaning product or disinfectant used. Might be worth investigating a different product without that specific aroma.

Really fun but not clean

Liked: Room was really fun, nicely decorated. The grounds are beautiful and the facilities are great especially the pool. But we enjoyed the restaurant and bakery also.
Disliked: Our room was unfortunately not very clean. The was a wad of hair in the shower and I found rubbish under the bed. I wasn’t looking for it, I literally stepped on it when I stood next to the bed. So that made me feel like the room wasn’t clean. I then kept seeing things that weren’t clean, especially the shower. I get that the room is a little old and used but a clean hotel room is “hotel 101” protocol. I don’t blame the housekeeping staff, the hotel management should be providing a list of thorough cleaning instructions including checking under the bed as well as hiring adequate number of housekeeping staff to make sure they have enough time to clean.
