Stayed only one night (attended a concert), and was quite impressed. Friendly, helpful staff; top notch, speciality cocktails; mezzanine and roof top seating areas for lounging including a roof top bar with fantastic views of Memphis and the Mighty Mississippi. Impressive and delicious late night room service menu. Walking distance to most attractions, including Mud Island and Beale Street. Room and amenities far exceeded expectations (King Suite). Very nice iPod stereo. Flat screen TV integrated with iPod as well. Highly recommend, especially if it comes discounted, but still worth it at full price.
Liked: King Suite; amenities; lobby; bar; mezzanine; roof top.

Don?t stay at the Madison...
Liked: In the midst of a total remodel and there was no public space (lobby, restaurant, rooftop lounge) and the hotel did nothing to make us feel welcome. Didn?t apologize for the state of hotel, offer water or fruit or something upon arrival, offer drink coupon at a nearby hotel etc. Very poor service.
Disliked: Everything (lobby, restaurant, rooftop lounge) was closed even though the restaurant was supposed to be open. The hotel did nothing to make up for this complete lack of public space. Everything was dirty and dusty. Staff was not engaging.

Disliked: Bedding was old and warn out. Laminate flooring had gaps in it and "popped" when walked upon. The acrylic pan in the shower was stained and looked dirty. Some lobby furnishings were heavily worn. Both restaurant & fitness were closed for "renovation"

Liked: Nice location downtown, within walking distance to Beale St + lots of other attractions. Nicely furnished/decorated lobby & common spaces. Friendly desk staff. Single queen room = cozy (maybe on the small side.) Building feels old which can go either way.
Disliked: Only parking option is Valet (an extra $29 overnight.) Or garages around the block...OR find your own metered street spot which are active 8am-6pm Mon-Sat. Room had a noisy AC unit, & the Tub/Shower had a leaky, dripping faucet. Light sleepers take not

Liked: The location
Disliked: It was extremely small and there was no pool! Our room had a spot on the floor that is going to break soon where the tile and carpet meet. Also - there is NO ROOM in the bathroom to set anything. Pedestal sinks SUCK!

Disliked: The mandatory valet parking was $30!

Liked: The room was clean and location was walking distance to a lot of places to eat. But nowhere to really park.
Disliked: That they charge $29 to park your car overnight.
