Pleasant stay for a weekend...

Disliked: The rooms while they are big etc they are tired carpet thre bear tables staned need upgrding didnt like the second 2 days as coach company use Hotel which makes it nosey first thing because the have to back on coach for 9 amafter that its back tobeing quiete pays the bills but please re invest upgrade

Liked: Exceptional staff, polite, smart appearance, helpful great credit to the hotel, made our stay very comfortable.We had a large spacious room, The bed was very comfortable and clean.water was available outside the room via a bar style tap in the corridor, actually we found it much better than bottled water, saves plastic and unlimited which is good, it was cool and refreshing sparkling and still available. Just fill a large jug supplied in the room, along with a container for ice if required and supplied from the bar.We did not use the many hotel facilities, such as the pool, so it was unfair to give comments, but we were aware they were there and free to use if needed, as was the car park free also.The restaurant experience was excellent and well presented by all the staff, excellent service.Breakfast was very good also, again excellent service by all the staff.The restaurant, bar and main public areas such as reception are very modern and stylish, giving good first impressions of the hotel.On reflection, we had a great stay, thanks to all the excellent professional staff at the hotel, we would definitely return and stay again. Our disliked comments are purely constructive opinions, that we hope the hotel goes on to improve in the future and it would make an exceptional stay.
Disliked: The room was tired and dated, old TV, furniture very old style, could do with an upgraded facelift to be honest. The hotel, is very limited on views, especially from our room looking around it doesn't matter which room, you select for your stay don't expect a nice view, however you could be lucky.Our room was very warm and stuffy even with the window open. So an air conditioning upgrade would be much better, over the fan supplied on request.Corridors, passageways, to rooms let the hotel down, they need a good redecorating refresh, carpets are dated, dirty looking, although maybe clean and hoovered, they could do with replacing, as was our room carpet they are beyond just a good hoover.Prices for drinks and food, expensive for what it is.£7.20 for pint of lager with lime£24.00 for cooked breakfast if required, although very nice good quality food and service.Ours was included in our room price, but we did see it on the menus, On reflection, we loved our stay and would return, the hotel is good value for money taking into account everything that's included.Our few constructive comments for recommended improvements, for the review we dropped a few marks, if the hotel make these improvements and it's a full 10 marks and exceptional, we loved our stay in Scotland, thanks to everyone at the Macdonald hotel.
