The hotel is fine but...

Liked: Location is good, price is okay. The included breakfast is very simple but it's fine.
Disliked: Upon arrival I was asked my name. I put my passport on the counter for the person at the front to check my full name, but he didn't check my passport and gave me a key to a room. Upon arriving at the room there were already people inside, very awkward and annoying moment ! It turns out the person at the front desk heard my family name and mistook me for a person who was supposed to join a group of friends in a big room, while I had booked a single room for myself. I really did not appreciate this experience. Be aware that you may have strangers entering your room in this hotel without you being notified. I locked my room just in case...

Liked: The location was very good, with being close to several metro stations and bus stops. The staff that we interacted with at reception were also very helpful. We could check-in ahead of time as our room was ready. There is also a secure (paid) luggage storage or for free in the common room. The common room had coffee and tea-making facilities. The free breakfast was okay.
Disliked: I have seen reviews that there is a severe sewage smell. Unfortunately, our room also had that. It was not all the time, but it kept crawling back. It was in the toilet, and also if you opened the window too. For this reason only, we would not go back to the hotel, but everything else was fine.

Convenient stay in central London...

Liked: The hotel was well located with plenty of transport options nearby, it was in a safe and quiet area. By other comments I had read, it’s a bit hit and miss, but I had a good room/experience. It was incredible value for the price, of course nothing fancy, but everything necessary was covered and was better than I expected. Clean spacious room, nice shower, big windows facing the front road and still quiet. Blackout curtains were a plus!
Disliked: I mainly didn’t like that you couldn’t put a not disturb sign on the door. I didn’t want cleaners to come in.Other small things were the lack of aircon, but big windows so not a big issue. Plugs on wrong side of the room (again, not a big deal), old carpets you don’t really want to touch (but they had been hoovered, just another minor thing). One of my friends had to stay in a different building (we had booked separately and was not very far away, the friendly reception staff looked into putting us together at least). Breakfast was not great, some staff in the breakfast area weren’t particularly nice, but this was free and they weren’t fussy to address mistakes as they happened. Overall, nothing that would stop me from staying there again.

Very disappointing.

Liked: Breakfast was rationed to 4 items of not very good quality items and staff didn’t always understand what you asked for.
Disliked: The room was very small, with only 1 wooden ( uncomfortable chair to sit on. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
