Liked: Lochranza YHA is a beautiful old building located in a stunning area of Arran. It is easily accessible by bus and the bus service around the island is really good. Very friendly and helpful staff and reallygood facilities.

Good staff and location, but...

Liked: The location is fantastic. Great staff, they even gave us shampoo and had some things to purchase at the front desk, good common areas, free parking. Incredible views just outside of the hostel with easy access to the area. Access to building after hours.
Disliked: The mattresses were horrible, as were some of the pillows. The bathroom not only didn't have potable water, but there's no ventilation for the shower, and mold was growing. The walls along the stars had some mold, and had clearly been taped together.

Our second time, and we...

Liked: Stunning views from the family rooms, and all communal areas downstairs. Such friendly and helpful staff. The prettiest location to stay in Arran. Do visit the gorgeous Bellevue farm, even if you are an all adult party. They have highland cows of every colour, plus lambs and calves in spring, lamas, donkeys, cockerals etc! A cafe with coffee and ice cream etc, and meat to buy. We booked the private tour, but if you don't want to splash out around £20 for that, I think it's only about £5 to wander around on your own, and the sea and mountain views from the farm are gorgeous!
