Liked: Welcoming and a nice wee bar . Comfy bed. Small kitchen but with what you needed
Disliked: It would be useful if the kettle wasn't right next to the single cooker as it gets crowded around there in the morning

Fab backpackers hostel.

Liked: Patrick the owner was really friendly and attentive. The bar was relaxed and comfy, and the beer was excellent.
Disliked: My snoring bunk room pals... but such is the luck of the draw in any hostel.

Very disappointing and frustrating stay...

Liked: Honestly, nothing. We were extremely disappointed with our stay.
Disliked: We were charged as if we booked a hotel with a private room, but what we got was far from it. The lodge was very dirty — we even found a sock left behind from a previous guest. There was no hot water, so we couldn’t shower or even wash properly, and the common areas were not clean.They advertised lake views, which is misleading because the property is actually far from the lake. The bar only offered alcoholic drinks, and they advised us to find breakfast or dinner nearby — but in reality, there were no real options available. Just one convenience store and a cafeteria, which was closed.This was by far the worst accommodation experience I’ve ever had.

Liked: Being greeted by Sandra on arrival - great communication and information before arrival. We arrived a little late as we found the high road a little tough on bikes but Sandra made sure we were well catered for and ensured we got a beer and a little dram before bed time.Loved the bar/dining area, very atmospheric. Great fun with 'Dougal' the dogI would highly recommend Loch Ness Backpackers Lodge

Nice place, felt like home

Liked: the staff are very kind - made us feel at home,it's a nice place, there is a nice lounge - good atmosphere. Even has a piano which I thought was great ( chickened out of playing it - would have if there was no one around)
Disliked: The kitchen was small - only big enough for two people to cook - It was nearly always busy in there, so I wasn't able to cook as often as I would have liked . If they relaxed the no cooking after 10 pm rule it would have helped me. I would have been happy to wait until everyone else had finished.Also, when we first saw our room we were surprised how small it was - . ok for one person but a bit small for two adults
