Budget hotel, friendly staff, good...

Liked: Very friendly staff.Carly on reception was absolutely amazing. She sorted out tv tuning and bathroom problem. Easy plentiful parking. Fabulous fresh fluffy cotton towels and sheets. Clean fresh carpets throughout hotel. Generally hotel and bar very clean. Good quality furniture, bathroom tiling. The bath and basin were quality but plug niggles.Great bath water temperature and filled up quickly. Good breakfast. Cooked breakfast options included square sausage and normal sausages, bacon, black pudding, hash brown, mushrooms, potato scones, beens , eggs or eggs benedict. Vegetarian sausages were available. Good selection of juices cereals, yoghurt and prunes.Breakfast cooked quickly, fresh to order. Friendly service. Overall budget friendly, staff very friendly, generally clean, good food, easy parking. Short drive to The Kelpies and The Falkirk Wheel.
Disliked: Housekeeping problems:Hot noisy roomAir conditioning unit has seen better days, probably needs cleaning, we switched it back off as was smelly.Noise all night long from ventilation fans or kitchen fridges and freezers.We were told that the kitchen noise would finish after cooking finishes, but fridge/ freezer noise continued all night. Couldn't get tv going, until fabulous receptionist Carly tuned it. :0) housekeeping need to check that things are working correctly. Bathroom was clean apart from mould in shower screen plastic edging at the base of glass - needs replacing - cleaner can't remove thisBath had mould around grippy spots. Receptionist Carly came to my rescue here, she scrubbed and bleached them. So kind of her as not her job, she said there wasn't anyone available from housekeeping. Bath plug chain broken but still usable Sink plug mechanism lever end broken/ corroded, but still usable Shower working with a whistle but could have been a little more powerful. ( I had a lovely relaxing evening and a morning bath -thanks to Carly :0) - so more of a niggle, than an issue, as style, decoration and general cleanliness good)Bed / mattress was very hardOnly one pillow each, could have done with two each.

We really enjoyed our stay,...

Liked: Awesome large room, very clean and comfortable. We did not eat in as we had food of our own with us.
Disliked: All was good

For a brief stay was...

Liked: Beds were comfortable. Bedding nice . Towels good quality.
Disliked: Room needs an upgrade . Furniture worn . But all adequate for our weekend stay visiting fam. Needs a refurb both in rooms and bar area .

Friendly staff, good breakfast

Liked: Friendly staff, good breakfast and good facilities.
Disliked: Our room was close to the kitchen and was therefore noisy and also smelled of food when the window was opened.

Great short break

Liked: Very nice room with a large bathroom. Staff were very friendly, good breakfast and pub/restaurant with a nice choice of menu at a reasonable price.
Disliked: Lack of hot water on the morning of day 2.
