Liked: Quiet with nice surroundings
Disliked: Not luggage-friendly, too many steps and not enough level thresholds.

Superb

Liked: The location and the ambience are amazing,
Disliked: Breakfast was just average, a typical English breakfast, good quality, but not an extensive buffet spread you see elsewhere.

Liked: Beautiful beams inside parts of the hotel. Restaurant service was good.
Disliked: The spa faced a housing estate and a car park. People coming and going could see people enjoying the spa. The hotel needs refurbishing in places.

Liked: Lovely building. Staff polite pleasant and helpful.
Disliked: The bed in room 50 was rock hard. Couldn't sleep. Pillows flat also.And very noisy around the room. Outside doors slamming.

Disliked: The restaurant was expensive for the quality of meal.Breakfast charges - on line £11.50, in advance at the hotel 14.95, on the day 18.95. These price differentials are ridiculous. I had my card ready to pay 11.50 at the desk and was told it was an on line offer - the email offer did not state it was an on line only price. They did honour it but it took 2 staff members to sort it and I had to show the email as proof at the desk, embarrassing and not what we want on short break away. Only booked a week before our stay and was inundated with daily emails about various extras . I felt quite dissatisfied with my booking , feeling my stay was going to be very basic and I would be missing out.
