Poor housekeeping, overpriced. Nice shower.
Liked: The location and surrounds are very nice, particularly picturesque in the snow. The shower in the En-Suite is outstanding.
Disliked: - The room was dirty, most surfaces coated with a thick layer of dust. -The heating was turned off on arrival, meaning it was below 0 outside and felt just above inside.-The room was very small for this price point. The pillows were hard and uncomfortable. There were no toiletries in the room, not even a bar of soap to wash your hands with.-our room was at the top of the stairs meaning we could hear everyone coming in and out of the block especially through the night. Given the several Xmas parties it was particularly noisy. Very poorly insulated against the noise (and the cold!)- The carpets on the entrance to the stairs were dirty. The housekeeping standards are extremely poor, especially given the 'premium' pricetag

Useful location and the staff...
Liked: The staff in the main bar by Reception were great, fast service and really attentive. Breakfast was nice - really yummy food with lots to choose from. I liked the cosy "village" theme.
Disliked: The room we stayed in felt a bit tired - decor needs a refresh etc, felt a bit disappointing for the price we'd paid. It also took us a while to find the room to begin with as the room number wasn't included in any of the number ranges on the signposts, an interesting challenge but we got there eventually! There didn't seem to be any hot water, the bedside lamps didn't work, and the TV remote didn't seem to work properly either, also there was constant light coming in under the door so couldn't get the room properly dark to sleep, and there was a noise all night - maybe heating or some other utility?

A very tired venue that...
Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The hotel was unfortunately very tired, dirty and cold. We could smell drains, the grout in our bathroom was mouldy, bits were falling off the bathroom, the towel rail didn’t heat and room was cold. The beds were uncomfortable and the room was not replenished each day, which with limited heat in the bedroom meant we didn’t have dry towels nor enough soap or tea. Sadly the cooked breakfast was also the worst I’ve ever had. The spa area was relaxed, but the pool too cold for my child to be in for more than 15 mins!

Nice venue, great staff, eat...
Liked: Really friendly and helpful staff. Environment and rooms are clean, well presented and perfect for our needs.
Disliked: The quality of the food lets the venue down, especially at the prices they are charging. For example a lunchtime panini had never seen a panini machine, it had been microwaved. The filing was one slice of ham and a sprinkling of shredded cheese that was hardly melted. This wouldn't meet my expectations at any price, certainly not at close to £10. If they could improve the quality of the food it might warrant the prices and would then get a 5 star rating from me.Its a shame the nice views have been lost to the housing estate b ut thats beyond their control.

Liked: All staff were very genuinely friendly and helpful. Spa facilities were and the bar and restaurant area was very nice. We were in one of the chalet block rooms on the upper floor at first glance it reminded me of a posh Butlins but the interior of room was very modern stylish and bathroom had clearly been refurbished to a high standard.
Disliked: My meal on Friday night was cold and I had to send it back
